The sun was hiding on the day we had scheduled to meet up and do the portrait session that Susan had dreamed of for over 15 years. We have been friends since college and she was an eye-witness to the beginnings of this brand. Dozens of our mutual friends got married and became “KJ Couples” and had their spotlight on the blog. While I was bummed that we didn’t have the GLOW that I had hoped for, I also knew that I could find a way to make the magic happen despite the gray skies. She deserved it. She’s been waiting for her turn for years and I am happy to report that some with some fun foregrounds and strategic compositional lead lines, there isn’t anything we can’t accomplish with a gloomy day!
Tom and Susan are just about as sweet as they come. Their story, their relaxed wedding experience, their calm demeanors…. it was a joy to spend a couple of hours together recently. These portraits were shot in our neighborhood. Nothing fancy or ornate, just some beautiful natural nooks in a few friend’s backyards!! I loved this shoot and I hope you do as well. Enjoy! And photographers, if you’re looking at this and thinking “Hey! It didn’t seem very dark!”…. I can’t wait for you to see the All Access Episode!
