It’s officially May. In addition to warmer temperatures and summer’s coming arrival, there’s something else to celebrate: the Met Gala. Always held on the first Monday of the month, this star-studded event is arguably one of the most important fashion events of the year. Celebrities from every field—from athletes and actors to philanthropists and business leaders—will appear on the steps of the Metropolitan Museum of Art in support of the fundraiser. The fête, whose official name is the Metropolitan Costume Institute Gala, raises money for the museum’s exhibitions and acquisitions. Last year, a ticket to the bash was rumored to cost $75,000. With that high price tag in mind, it’s no surprise that attendees will show up in their best, most impressive looks.
This year’s theme, “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style,” inspired by Monica L. Miller’s book, Slaves to Fashion: Black Dandyism and the Styling of Black Diasporic Identity, will celebrate Black style from the 18th century to today. Co-hosted by some of the most well-known Black men in the worlds of sports, culture, movies, and music—Lewis Hamilton, A$AP Rocky, Pharrell Williams, Colman Domingo, and LeBron James—the event is sure to produce an array of trend-forward and innovative ensembles that nod to the theme.
However, in addition to the showstopping fashion, there’s something else to celebrate on the museum's famous steps: adorable moments between some of our favorite couples. From Simone Biles and Johnathan Owens to Helen Lasichanh and Pharrell Williams, here, we’ve compiled every enchanting shot between lovebirds. Below, read on for the cutest couple moments at the 2025 Met Gala.

Helen Lasichanh, a fashion designer, and Pharrell Williams, a singer-songwriter, posed together on the red carpet for this year’s gala, which the latter is a co-host for. The two, who tied the knot in 2013, both stuck to neutral-hued ensembles: She appeared in a black leather bodysuit with a coordinated jacket and sheer tights while he opted for a double-breasted jacket in a pinstripe pattern that reportedly featured 100,000 pearls. Staying true to style, the record producer also donned his signature black sunglasses.

At this year’s gala, Colman Domingo appeared alongside his husband of 11 years, Raúl Domingo, on the red carpet. The Euphoria actor, who was a co-host of the event, opted to don a black-and-white checkered suit—that he accessorized with an oversized floral pin and a handkerchief tie. The all-neutral look stood in contrast to that of his partner’s: a head-to-toe purple sequined ensemble with an oversized bow at the neck.

Simone Biles leaned into bright colors when selecting her outfit for the fête, opting for a bright blue mini with embellishments and a dramatic train. In a nod to this year’s theme, the Olympian also added a white collar to her dress—and accessorized the look with high heels and a clutch in the same shade of blue. Her husband, NFL player Jonathan Owens, appeared alongside her in an all-white suit with a dramatic fur cape. Both Biles and Owens were part of the host committee for the event.
