As it turns out, Kelce didn't choose Swift's engagement ring designer, Kindred Lubeck, on his own: He actually had a little help from his bride-to-be.
Swift told hosts Emma Bunton and Jamie Theakston that she actually showed Kelce Kindred Lubeck's designs 18 months ago. "I had shown him a video, I just thought her stuff was so cool, I had shown him a video like a year and a half ago and he was just paying attention to everything it turns out because when I saw the ring I [gasped] ... I was like, 'I know who made this, I know who made this,' and also, you listen to me!” she gushed.
The bride-to-be also noted that Lubeck does all of her gold engraving by hand, something that sets her designs out from others on the market. The final design, she explains, was exactly what Swift didn't even know she wanted. "It was like, you really know me. I didn't know what I would want, but he did somehow, and that's kind of a flex,” she said.
According to Benjamin Khordipour at Estate Diamond Jewelry, Swift's engagement ring features an approximately 8-carat antique cushion-cut diamond set in gold. He valued the stunning piece at roughly $550,000, noting that it appears to have exceptional color and clarity.
Khordipour also added that the diamond is held in place by "needle point prongs" that "perfectly match the antique style. Smaller diamonds and hand-engravings adorn the shoulders of her setting."
Swift and Kelce announced their engagement on August 26, 2025, with a joint Instagram post that read, "Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married 🧨." According to Kelce's dad, Ed Kelce, the proposal took place a few weeks before the couple shared the news with the world.
