Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce Are Engaged!

After nearly two years of dating, Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce are officially engaged! The couple announced the news in the form of a joint Instagram post today, August 26, 2025. They captioned the news, "Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married 🧨."

In the first photo, the two are seen in a flower-filled outdoor space and Travis is down on one knee. In subsequent photos, the two are seen holding hands and embracing. Taylor also gave fans a clear look at her massive engagement ring—a vintage-inspired style set in yellow gold with a significantly sized diamond with rounded edges. Based on the photo, it looks like it could be an oval, but may also be a "squoval" shape, a term used for an oval with sqaured off corners, or an elongated cushion cut.

Last summer, we asked jewelers to make predictions about Taylor's future engagement ring. While no one got it quite right, they did get some of the details down pat. The overarching sentiment was that Travis would pick out something unique, vintage-inspired, and at least several carats in size for Taylor. "Since Taylor is drawn to vintage styling, the diamond would be set in Art Deco-inspired claw prongs made of platinum, while the band would be 18K yellow gold (to complement her predominantly yellow gold jewelry), and then accented with 13 (her lucky number) round diamonds with vintage milgrain beaded details," said Ruben Luna, founder and creative director of fine jewelry brand Workshop Underground, at the time. "And, of course, there would be a hidden inscription engraved inside of the band reading ‘TNT.’”

Earlier this month, our editors spoke to an expert about the best day for Travis to propose to Taylor based on numerology, something fans know the singer puts a great deal of stock into. Her nearest prediction was September 13, 2025, which was decided based on 13 being an important number to Taylor. "This would be a good [date] in numerology because the energy is a four vibration (13=1+3=4), and it promotes making a real commitment," said Glynis McCants, a numerologist and the author of Glynis Has Your Number and Love By the Numbers.

Taylor and Travis officially started dating in September of 2023. After that, the two began being seen regularly together: She was spotted supporting Travis at his football games, the two were pictured around New York City on dates, and they were even photographed in Buenos Aires, Argentina, during one leg of her iconic Eras Tour. On June 22, 2024, the two made their relationship Instagram official and have been more vocal about their connection ever since.

Earlier this month, Travis opened up to GQ about his connection with Taylor. "When I say it was so organic, we fell in love just based off the people we were sitting in a room together with," he said in the profile. "We are two fun-loving people who have the morals to appreciate everyone for who they are. We share all those values."
