Even though she tied the knot with her husband Elliot Grainge in 2023, it appears that Sofia Richie is not done with wedding gowns. At this year's Met Gala, the model and influencer stepped out in a white Tommy Hilfiger dress, complete with a dramatic back bow—one of this season's biggest bridal trend. The ivory-hued silk dress also featured a high neckline (a favorite of Richie's!), an open back, and short sleeves. Playing into one of her go-to hairstyles, the slicked-back bun, the influencer opted for a glamorous updo, complete with teardrop diamond earrings.

The piece also appears to pay homage to some of her beloved past looks. For her nuptials in 2023, the social media personality wore not just one but three dresses for her celebration. At her rehearsal dinner, which was held at a private estate, she donned a long-sleeved beaded gown with fringe. That ensemble seemed to be a teaser for her ceremony ensemble: a beaded dress with a high neckline and scalloped detailing. "We created the top of that dress and made it bridal-y,” she said at the time. “It is such magic. I honestly think Elliot is going to love it. He is my biggest cheerleader when it comes to anything I wear. If he doesn’t cry, I’ll be very sad." But that wasn't all: For her after-party, the daughter of Lionel Richie stepped out in a mini with a 3-D floral accent. Yet even though each of the pieces differed from one another, all three shared the same designer: Chanel.

Richie's decision to tap Tommy Hilfiger as the designer for her look for this year's Met Gala isn't necessarily a surprise; the model gravitates toward a classic look, something that the American designer is known for. In 2023, she spoke about her love for such pieces and elements when reflecting on the wedding-planning process. "I wanted it to feel timeless," she said in an interview at the time. "I pored over photos of classic royal weddings and pulled in little things that I wanted."

While Richie's new spouse has appeared alongside her at many high-profile events, including the Vanity Fair Oscars Party earlier this year, it appears the record executive opted not to attend this year's Met Gala. Last year, Richie herself missed the celebration—but for a very understandable reason: She was pregnant with the couple's first baby. On May 20, 2024, the influencer gave birth later to their daughter, Eloise. The gender was a surprise to the couple. "We both really thought it was a boy, so it was a true shock," she said in an interview with Vogue in 2024. "My dream in life is to have a daughter [though], and Elliot is really excited for a girl too."
