Congratulations are in order for Daniel Neeson and Natalie Ackerman! Liam Neeson and Natasha Richardson's son proposed to his long-term partner on Saturday, September 6, 2025, while the two were on a romantic sailboat cruise on the Hudson River in New York City. "Yesterday I got to ask my best friend to join me on this journey called life," Daniel told People. In the interview, the entrepreneur reflected on the similarities between his new fiancée and his late mother, who died in 2009 after a skiing accident. "I see my mother in Nat, I see life in Nat, and reality just got a whole lot sweeter with a ring on it," he added. "Love wins!"
The diamond itself includes nods to his late mother. "We estimate that the ring is a three-carat cushion-cut diamond, D-F color, and VS1 clarity," says Benjamin Khordipour at Estate Diamond Jewelry. "The diamond is framed by a double platinum bezel. The band is 18K yellow gold." He adds that the piece, which he estimates is worth approximately $95,000, is beautiful and creative, embodying a modern interpretation of a retro accessory. While the sparkler is a different design than the one given to Natasha by Liam, it includes a number of similarities to the 1990s piece. "The style of both rings overlap, particularly in the way both rings balance subtle elegance with minimalist precision," Khordipour says. The actress's diamond featured a round-cut jewel on multiple gold bands. While it's not clear where the piece is today, it likely is still in the actor's possession.
For the proposal, Daniel donned a neutral T-shirt and slate gray pants. His new fiancée wore a bridal-inspired ensemble, selecting a white button-down and cream-colored trousers. According to the outlet, the duo started dating in 2017 as students at Tulane University. They both graduated from the institution in 2019. Over the years, the founder of De Nada Tequila has posted a number of photos of Natalie on his Instagram. "You are my sweet song that whistles in the breeze. 🤍 Love you baby," he wrote in a caption accompanying a photo of the two of them on the water that was posted last summer.

In his interview with People, Daniel provided more details on the couple's eight-year-long partnership. "I could write novels on why I love Natalie, but there's something deeper, something so cosmic about our relationship that I know we're meant to be in this universe together," he said. It's clear others agree: A number of the couple's famous friends celebrated the news of the engagement, including Ubah Hassan, Frank Grillo, and Andy Cohen, who posted comments on Instagram.
