In a world dominated by speed, convenience and the constant churn of digital content, I find myself more and more drawn to the kind of work that slows things down. Supporting small, independent businesses who honour time, skill and the handmade feels not only important, but necessary. There is real value in craft in the human touch, and Claire’s calligraphy is a perfect example of this. Every piece she creates carries meaning.
Calligraphy is, at its heart, a romantic way to communicate. It gives weight to words. This editorial beautifully recreates an Italian inspired summer wedding in rural Scotland, with olive branches and a deliciously bright bouquet in vibrant yellows. Styled and created by Artisan Weddings Ayrshire and Velvet Apple Events, details are dreamy with painterly calligraphy menus and coloured glassware nestled amongst the olive leaves.
The table styling has texture upon texture, with olive branches and rosemary, fern leaf plates and knotted silks, a scattering of lemons and grand candelabras with white, slightly windswept dripping candles for an especially authentic and timeless touch.
