A Forest and Star Dome Wedding at ReTreet in Scottsboro, Alabama

Trinity and Caleb got married at ReTreet in Scottsboro, Alabama, in April 2026: a forest wedding with an intimate outdoor ceremony and a reception inside a stargazing dome tucked among the trees. Caleb’s grandfather married them.

ReTreet sits near Lake Guntersville, and Trinity got ready in a cabin with views of the water. Photographer Jessi Casara had never shot at the property before and came away hoping to go back.

A forest ceremony with their own vows

The ceremony was small and outdoors, with Caleb’s grandfather officiating. Happy tears started as Trinity came down the aisle, and the personal vows the two of them read had the whole crowd emotional. If you’re writing your own, our list of wedding vows for him is a good place to start.

A second dress for the reception

Right after the ceremony, Trinity slipped away and changed into a second dress for the reception. It’s an easy way to get two looks without a costume-change production: one gown for the aisle and portraits, something lighter for dinner and dancing. Her ceremony gown was strapless with a full tulle skirt, her bouquet mixed red roses with white blooms, and Caleb wore a double-breasted tan suit with a burgundy tie. The palette stayed romantic: white and ivory with red and lilac against all that forest green.

Dinner by candlelight in ReTreet’s Star Dome

The reception moved into ReTreet’s Star Dome, which comes into its own after sunset: elegant, cozy and lit almost entirely by candles. Bubba’s Silver Spoon Catering served bites by candlelight, and Jessi got portraits of the newlyweds surrounded by candles and roses.

The idea worth stealing

Ask someone who’s known you forever to officiate. Caleb’s grandfather leading the ceremony made a small outdoor service feel like a family event. Officiant rules vary by state, so check yours before you ask.
