Some married couples decide to renew their vows to reaffirm their promises to one another and honor their special connection. One couple, though, hosted a vow renewal with the hope of resolving their marital issues. Just the opposite happened: After the husband smashed cake in his wife’s face, she ended their marriage.

In a viral TikTok video, the couple is seen attempting to feed one another a slice of cake during a celebration that appears to take place in a backyard. When the piece that the husband is holding gets too close to his wife’s face, she immediately stops him. “We talked about this,” she warns. “For real, please don’t do it, OK?” Despite her pleas, he proceeds to smear the icing on her cheek, anyway. Coated in the sugary mix, the woman looks shocked and disgusted. She then voices the humiliation she feels. “My friends are here, and they’re filming us,” she screams at her husband.

According to the clip, the man shoved a slice of cake in his wife’s face on their wedding night, too. The then-bride was also furious with her husband that night, but he didn’t seem to care about her perspective. “I thought that was funny,” he said, oblivious to his wife’s feelings. Throughout the course of their marriage, according to the caption, the man has repeatedly “disrespected” his wife.

One guest, a woman in a two-piece hot pink outfit, immediately jumps to the female host’s defense, giving the man a taste of his own medicine by smashing a piece of cake in his face. “Is it funny now?” she asks. With an angry expression on his face, the man insults the guest. “Who invited you?” he questions, to which the woman in the hot pink garment replies, “What do you mean? I’m her best friend. We’ve literally all been around longer than you.”

The man and his wife’s best friend continue to argue: While the man accuses the guest of going “too far,” the woman in the pink-hued outfit restates that he intentionally ignored his wife’s boundaries. “If this was up to me, this would be a divorce party, not a vow renewal,” the attendee exclaims. “That was disgusting.”

The man’s wife, who is shown watching the fight from the sidelines, agrees with her best friend and decides to end her marriage right then and there. She’s seen marching up to her husband, taking off her wedding ring, and throwing the bauble at his feet. “Are you serious right now?” he asks. “Over cake?” The woman’s best friend grabs the sparkler from the ground, telling the man to keep his hands off of it. “I’m selling it,” she declares, while stomping away.

TikTok praised the guest for being such a loyal friend. “I would go to war for pink dress girl,” the top comment said, while another post with thousands of likes read, “Pink dress girl = The hero we need.” Many users discussed the nature of the couple’s relationship. “When she said, ‘I was mad then too,’ my heart broke,” another person expressed. “You know he crosses all her boundaries.” Some of those who tuned in also praised the wife for finally leaving her husband. “Wife knows her worth and is getting out,” another said.
