When done right, calligraphy is a showstopper, and these are the best in the biz. Whether you are looking for traditional calligraphy or a more modern style for perfectly written envelopes, pretty place cards, stunning signage, favour tags, or handscribed vows, you'll find the perfect wedding calligraphy for your big day here...

Although we may be small, Ireland has a handful of incredibly talented calligraphers and hand letterers to choose from. The Peannairí - The Association of Irish Calligraphers also may be able to put you in contact with a calligrapher in your local area.

Wedding Calligraphy Advice

  • For calligraphy invites you can choose from two options: a hand illustrated version or as some stationery designers offer, a digital version of the hand drawn version- which is less expensive.
  • Typically, calligraphic art is priced per piece. So, for wedding invites and envelope addressing this type of finish can be rather expensive. Make sure to research early to see if it will fit within your stationery budget.
  • You can also choose to have elements of your printed stationery paired with wedding calligraphy to keep costs down, such as your envelope addresses, names on invites, place cards and signage.

  • Think beyond the stationery. If you love calligraphy, think about other ways to bring it in to your special day, calligraphy mirror table plans, table numbers, calligraphy engraved gifts, your vow books, and more!
  • Book your calligrapher when you book your invitations. Also, remember that calligraphic work is a physical job, so there is a limit to the amount of work calligraphers can take on.
  • For obvious reasons, you should allow plenty of time if you choose a hand-penned option.
  • When it comes to calligraphy scribed envelope addressing, place cards or favour tags, Double, and triple-check that guest list! Make sure it is correct before sending off to the calligrapher.
