For hopeless romantics Hannah and Sean, their Irish wedding was always destined to be something special. Having spent a decade exploring the world together, including several years living in Australia, the couple brought their love story home to Ireland for a celebration that beautifully reflected their style. From the timeless elegance of their venue to the fun, personal details, every element felt distinctly theirs.

They chose One Fab Day fave Cabra Castle for their 140-guest celebration, while Hannah found her dreamy Hera Couture gown at One Fab Day recommended bridal boutique The Vow Bridal Studio, perfectly complementing the romantic aesthetic she had envisioned.

And while the overall look was elegant and timeless, the day was packed with on-trend details and tons of personality, from personalised Print My Pint Guinness pints and divine florals in a wine and green palette to an on-trend Lambeth cake, and a sweet Disney moment. With glorious June sunshine and all their favourite people together, it’s easy to see why Hannah says the day was “everything we hoped for and more.” Captured beautifully by Lucy’s Lens Wedding Photography, this is a Cabra Castle wedding filled with timeless style, thoughtful details and plenty of love.

Co. Antrim couple Hannah and Sean first met 10 years ago, and on their very first date in Belfast, the conversation quickly turned to travel. In fact, she asked Sean if he wanted to travel — a question that would set the tone for their relationship. From that moment, they began exploring the world together, travelling across Asia and Europe before moving to Australia, where they lived from 2018 to 2021.

In January 2024, just after buying their first home together, Sean whisked her back to Australia for her 30th birthday. He proposed in Noosa, one of her favourite places in the world, bringing their shared love of travel full circle.

The proposal happened on Main Beach in Noosa after a romantic dinner at Sails. The couple took a walk along the shoreline before Sean got down on one knee, though she admits the emotion of the moment meant she can barely remember what he said, except for one line: “It was always when, not if.”

The answer, of course, was always going to be yes. Later, Sean confessed that he had spent the evening in the restaurant bathroom practising which knee to get down on, a detail that makes the story even sweeter! And then, moments after she said yes, the heavens opened, leaving them both completely drenched on the beach. “It was like something from a film.”

Once engaged, Hannah and Sean began planning a wedding that felt timeless, romantic and effortless, with a clear focus on the things that mattered most to them: incredible food, a brilliant band, a beautiful venue and, above all, creating unforgettable memories with their family and friends.

It seems they nailed it, with guests still telling the couple it was “one of the best weddings they’ve ever been to”, a compliment Hannah says she couldn’t ask for anything nicer.

And when it came to finding the perfect venue, Cabra Castle, in Co. Cavan stole Hannah and Sean’s hearts from the very beginning. The castle, interiors and grounds ticked every box for their timeless, romantic vision, while the team’s attention to detail sealed the deal. Nothing was too much trouble, right down to sourcing a replacement bow tie after one of their groomsmen’s snapped on the morning of the wedding. Now that's great wedding service!

The grooms party looked effortlessly dapper in classic black tie from Statement Menswear, with Sean adding a touch of luxury to his look with accessories from TAG Heuer and Goldsmiths.

As a self-confessed hopeless romantic, Hannah had always envisioned a wedding that felt elegant, classic and timeless. The couple wanted to create a day that would feel just as beautiful looking back in 30 years as it did in the moment they said “I do”.

For her wedding day look, Hannah chose a dreamy lace gown with detachable sleeves by New Zealand bridal label Hera Couture, which she found at The Vow Bridal Studio in Moy, Northern Ireland. The dress was made to fit Hannah like an absolute dream, with the detachable sleeves adding a beautiful touch of versatility to her bridal look. She accessorised with Steve Madden bridal shoes, jewellery from The Dress House and a veil from The Vow Bridal Studio, while seamstress Kelly Black Design ensured every detail of the gown fitted to perfection.

Hannah’s bridal beauty look was polished and romantic, with Natasha O’Hare Makeup and Emma King of Emma K Creative Styling ensuring she was aisle-ready. Her glowing skin was prepped by Berkeley Aesthetics, with Niki Tan Artist adding a sun-kissed finish to complete her effortlessly elegant bridal look.

Hannah’s bridesmaids complemented her beautifully in soft pink dresses from La Mariée Bridesmaids, with elegant halterneck silhouettes adding a romantic, feminine touch to the bridal party’s timeless look.

The flowers were nothing short of divine, with House of Elliot Flowers creating abundant bouquets and arrangements in a sophisticated palette of burgundy, soft pink, chartreuse and white. For bouquets, Calla lilies, orchids, trailing amaranth, snapdragons and anthuriums came together in an effortlessly elegant display, perfectly complementing the couple’s aesthetic.

Hannah and Sean were married on 25th June, celebrating with 140 guests. Their day began with a traditional ceremony at the Church of the Immaculate Conception in Kingscourt, Co. Cavan, where they exchanged ‘I dos’ and wedding rings, with bespoke pieces from Imogen London and Lunn’s Jewellers. Afterwards, everyone made their way to Cabra Castle for a spectacular reception in the heart of the Cavan countryside.

The celebrations kicked off with a sun-soaked cocktail reception, with personalised details from Print My Pint and live music by Trad Dispute setting the tone for a relaxed afternoon of drinks, music and mingling.

What made the day truly special for Hannah and Sean was, above all, the people. Having everyone they loved together in one place was incredibly meaningful, particularly those who had travelled from across the world to celebrate with them. As Hannah put it, “It felt like every chapter of our lives coming together for one unforgettable day.”

For Hannah and Sean, the day was everything they had hoped for and more. Cabra Castle looked incredible bathed in sunshine on one of the hottest June days in 30 years, while inside, the atmosphere was filled with so much love and happiness. Looking out across the dining room at all their family and friends celebrating together was a moment Hannah says she’ll never forget.

The reception was packed with fun, personal details alongside the timeless styling. Their wedding cake by Lyttle Teapot Cakery was a beautiful Lambeth-style creation, classic yet completely on trend, while Bentley Boys Band kept the dancefloor packed all night.

And then there were the moments that were uniquely Hannah and Sean: giant cardboard cut-outs of their Labrador puppy Athena made an appearance on the dancefloor, much to everyone’s delight! They also got to meet and cuddle Guinness, Cabra Castle’s resident Irish Wolfhound, adding another wonderfully memorable touch to the day.

One of the most memorable moments came during Hannah’s dad’s speech, which began with the instantly recognisable words, “Can you feel the love tonight?” from The Lion King, a film Hannah has loved since childhood. He cleverly had guests repeat the line throughout his speech, and the phrase became the unofficial motto of the wedding — with people still saying it to Hannah weeks later.

For their first dance, Hannah and Sean chose ‘Always’ by Bon Jovi. The song’s long intro gave them the perfect opportunity to share a quiet moment together before inviting their bridal party, parents and guests onto the dance floor to join them in the celebrations.

For their honeymoon, Hannah and Sean are heading to Elissa Lifestyle Beach Resort in Rhodes this October for some well-earned relaxation. With beautiful sea views, a luxury spa, outdoor cinema and gorgeous surroundings, it sounds like the perfect place to unwind and enjoy their first adventure as newlyweds.

Hannah and Sean’s advice is one we hear time and time again from our One Fab Day couples: be present and soak up every second, because the day really does go by far too quickly. And if you’re wondering whether all the planning, stress and expense will be worth it, Hannah has no doubt: “It absolutely is. I would relive our wedding day over and over again if I could.”

Huge congratulations to the happy couple - and thank you to Lucy's Lens Wedding Photography for sharing this dreamy summer Cabra Castle wedding with One Fab Day.
