True love takes its time, and for Katya and Eugen, the journey to the wedding altar was a story a decade in the making. Originally from Moldova, the couple has called Ireland home for the past 15 years. They first crossed paths through family connections and shared a steady friendship before a deeper spark caught fire. This time last year, on August 29, 2025, the couple welcomed 70 of their closest family and friends to celebrate their marriage at the breathtaking Killruddery House & Gardens in Wicklow. Having first met through family connections, as Eugen was Katya's uncle’s neighbour, they knew each other for around ten years before their relationship became something more."Eugen proposed during dinner at the Cliff at Lyons in Kildare. It felt classic and romantic, and of course, I said yes!," says Katya. "From the beginning, beautiful flowers, great photography and videography were very important to us as we wanted the atmosphere of the day to be captured properly, and to have memories we could keep forever," says Katya. "We were also really hoping for good weather! Most importantly, we wanted our guests to feel happy, comfortable and genuinely enjoy celebrating with us." Katya looked radiant, with a soft, romantic beauty look crafted by makeup artist Nicole Harrison and hair stylist Cara Cameron. Just at the bride radiated, the other star of the show was undoubtedly the venue. The couple fell instantly in love with the historic Orangery at Killruddery House. Its grand glass architecture, flooded with natural light and surrounded by lush greenery, provided a romantic backdrop that required very little embellishment. On the day, guests were greeted by a stunning display of seasonal floral arrangements curated directly by the Killruddery House team, seamlessly blending the indoor celebration with the rolling gardens outside. "We wanted the day to feel simple, elegant and timeless, with the beauty of the Irish countryside at the heart of it," says Katya. "We deliberately kept the colour palette classic and timeless," Katya explains. "We wanted to be able to look back at our wedding photographs many years from now and still love every detail, rather than choosing something very trend-led that might feel dated later." As Katya walked down the aisle, the ethereal, melodic notes of a harp and vocals echoed beautifully through the grand glass structure of the Orangery. There's something extra glamorous about a Champagne tower and we love Katya and Eugens' set up! The tone for the celebration was set early on with exquisite, bespoke stationery designed by Cypriot fine-art wedding studio Amber n' Dust. Following the ceremony and a relaxed reception, guests indulged in a beautiful custom cake created by luxury cake designer Jana Blake. Capturing the essence of the day was a top priority for the couple. Photographer Viorica D Photography and videographers Spoiala Brothers worked in tandem to preserve every glance, laugh, and emotional embrace. Advice for other couples? "The guidance of event planners Rosalia Events & Design was so helpful to us." As night fell, MB Events Group took over, transforming the elegant venue into a lively celebration with top-tier sounds. For the newlyweds, the true magic of the day lay in the simplicity of togetherness. "For us, the most special part was simply getting married to our soulmate and having both of our families there together in full," says Katya. The celebration didn't stop at the reception. Katya and Eugen jetted off on an epic, month-long honeymoon across the United States. "Taking a full month gave us the chance to really enjoy the experience," they reflect.
