Hello cosy season! And welcome to The October Edit, our monthly round up of what's hot in the world of wedding inspiration. These are the things the One Fab Day team have been hitting save on their socials for, from the best beauty and wedding fashion buys, and trends we're crushing on, to lifestyle, travel and cultural moments. Be sure to follow us on Instagram and Pinterest to stay in the know. The secret is officially out! We are super excited to announce that on the 5th November 2026, One Fab Day will bring together the people who make Ireland’s wedding industry so extraordinary for our inaugural One Fab Day Wedding Awards, taking place at the iconic College Green Hotel in Dublin. This is set to be more than an awards ceremony. It will be a spectacular gathering of the greats of the Irish wedding industry - a chance to celebrate the creativity, craftsmanship, style and sheer talent that goes into making a wedding truly fabulous. From the venues that leave guests speechless to the photographers who capture the magic, the florists who transform spaces, these awards are all about the people behind the moments couples remember forever. Tickets go on sale this week. We can't wait! And if you have been party to some excellent wedding services please do give your suppliers the nudge to enter. We are still taking nominations until this Friday 2nd October! Love supporting small Irish businesses? Us too. Also love candles and cosiness and general gorgeousness that could make the sweetest bridesmaids gifts? You are among friends here, and you can say hello to STÓR Atelier which is a new Irish gifting online destination with an in-house design team in Dublin who pairs with Irish and European makers to create some very special things. From the dreamiest textiles, which come with keepsake Irish linen storage bags, to the yummiest candles, which could lead to a whole new world of wedding scenting ahead, this is a treasure trove just awaiting discovery. See more at Stor Atlelier Ready to get suited and booted for the wedding? Let us immediately direct you to the Louis Copeland & Sons Made to Measure Event which begins this week (from 1 October) and offers a special promotion where you can buy one made-to-measure suit or blazer and get your second half price. During the one-to-one in-store consultation, you can customise your look by choosing from a wide selection of premium fabrics, lapels, buttons, linings and monograms. The buy-one-get-one-half-price offer is also versatile, allowing a groom to design a formal ceremony suit alongside a more relaxed blazer for the rehearsal dinner, day-two celebrations or honeymoon. This can also be an opportunity for the wedding party - such as the groom, best man, and fathers - to coordinate their appointments that transition beautifully into their long-term wardrobes. Brilliant! You can book here. "I think every bride wants to have that natural glow on their big day and the best looking skin is always super hydrated" says Edel Kinane who is the Irish founder of this Morrocan beauty oil which is being dubbed “Natural Botox” Discovered while travelling through Morocco, Moroccan Prickly Pear Seed Oil is widely regarded as one of the world's rarest and most labour-intensive natural beauty ingredients. "What struck me most was how simple it was. Just a few drops left my skin looking brighter, feeling more hydrated and noticeably smoother. When I couldn't find a product in Ireland that matched the quality I'd experienced in Morocco, I decided to source and bottle it myself.” The oil is completely natural, yet lightweight enough to be used every day, and has received rave reviews from our colleagues over at Evoke. It's €49 a bottle and you can find it on Tastemaker.ie Thinking of incorporating lace into your gown or veil? Well you'd be in good company, as we are seeing a huge resurgence in the lace trend (Olwen Burke is just one Irish designer who works beautifully with the heritage material) with Ireland's own Carrickmacross lace undeniably having a huge second coming. This has been largely driven by Paris Haute Couture Week in July 2026, when Clare-born designer Michael Stewart, founder of the London-based label Standing Ground, stunned the fashion world by closing his debut show at the Irish Embassy with an ethereal, full-length bridal gown made entirely of hand-crafted Carrickmacross lace. Modeled by iconic supermodel Kristen McMenamy, it is believed to be the first full couture gown of its kind. This has catapulted the 200-year-old traditional Irish craft from out of the historical archives and straight onto the global fashion stage - and we are here for it! Added to this the Design and Crafts Council of Ireland (DCCI) has just announced that Carrickmacross lace is central to its national programme. The events - which roll out in November - will include exhibitions, workshops, talks and awards, bringing together designers, makers, businesses and members of the public across the country. For more see IrishDesignWeek.ie Need a few little distractions from wedding planning, giving you an excuse to put your feet up, switch off and enjoy some well-deserved downtime? Hello Bake Off season, and this time with Nigella Lawson on our screens again. Bliss. Also! Jane Austen fans rejoice! We are also very much looking forward to seeing Daisy Edgar-Jones in the new Sense and Sensibility remake which our colleagues over at Evoke are already all raving about. Finally, we were ringside at the Brown Thomas A/W Fashion Show which showcased some stunning pieces which would be perfectly bridal. One label that stood out was Balearic brand De La Vali, which is new to the store and offers a fresh and breezy bridal aesthetic inspired by the bohemian spirit and the heritage of Ibiza. I loved the elegance of the draped short dresses as well as the floor sweeping jersey styles and will always be here for a neck scarf! See the full collection here.
