There's something so gorgeous about August, isn't there? It feels like not only have we eased into natural downtime and got used to the heat of the summer (and what a summer of sunshine it has been so far!), but we also still have a month to go before the "get everything sorted for the new season", which also feels refreshing. It is like the last little lull before all the craziness kicks in properly again.

But of course whether lying on a sunlounger or revelling at a family summer party, wedding planning never properly ever stops, and there is always inspiration to be found all around. So welcome to our monthly August Edit - which is our round up of all that's happening in the world of wedding inspiration. It's a curated look at all the ideas that we are loving right now...

Summer Breeze: What's on our Radar this Month

1. Zendaya' Inspirational Grecian Goddess Red Carpet Looks

Zendaya has been giving some serious wedding-coded red-carpet looks at The Odyssey promotional tour, and we loved her stand-out white winged gown with a sculpted silhouette she wore to the premiere (see above). We can already prophesise that this level of Grecian glamour and drama will be seen trickling into wedding fashion trends now. For a this-season dupe though, Justin Alexander's signature Yue gown taps into the same look with a fitted stretch Mikado silhouette, sculpted sweetheart neckline and oversized couture detail that falls into a sweeping train. Properly epic! You can take a look back at all the Justin Alexander collections here and shop for them at stores such as The Bridal Outlet and Pronuptia Belfast. Also! Having seen the movie and becoming a little bit more obsessed in all things Ancient Greece than ever before, we've added the wonderful Homer-inspired reading Ithaka to our printables, which we think you might love.

2. The Hottest Honeymoon Sandals

This season's standout style in sandals? There are so many! The main thing to know is that whether you choose a flat chunky sole or a kitten heel, the flip flop shape is firmly back, and from Marks and Spencers to Ancient Greeks to Havaianas to Birkenstocks, there are so many great ones to choose from! There are also a slew of cool girls collabs as well, and leading the way are the Havaianas x Tresse which merge the casual beach flip-flop with fashion statement Parisian design. Honestly, the hardest thing is knowing where to shop - and when to stop! Have a look at our 44 Honeymoon Wardrobe Finds and The Ultimate Honeymoon Packing List and get going! Bon Voyage!

3. The Japanese manicure trend

Kate Middleton's new nude nails - displayed at this summer's Wimbledon - are now being called summer's hottest wedding nail trend. Of course we are already all about the polish-free, pearlescent French inspired manicure for weddings but what is new is that this is reminiscent of the trending Japanese manicure, which is an ancient technique detailing nail prep, cuticle care and nourishing ingredients to create a smooth, glossy finish. "To recreate the look, ask your nail technician for a natural shape with a high-shine finish and a soft, translucent glow," says Annabelle Taurua who is the resident beauty expert at Fresha, the global booking platform for the beauty industry. "Japanese manicures also work beautifully across different nail lengths and styles because the focus is on making your nails look their healthiest," she says. Which is exactly the timeless look we want on our wedding day. Who else is ready to ditch gel nails going forward?

4. An Iconic Afternoon Tea at The Westbury Hotel

One of our favourite kinds of pre wedding bash is one that works for a broad spectrum of guests - mums, grans, and aunties included - so when we saw the new unveiling of the Montblanc Afternoon Tea at The Westbury in Dublin for summer we knew we needed to report on this! Inspired by five iconic Montblanc writing instrument collections, this limited-edition Afternoon Tea features handcrafted desserts, alongside The Westbury's signature selection of sandwiches, freshly baked scones and fine teas, all served in the elegant surroundings of The Gallery restaurant in the hotel lobby. Prices are between €79 or €103 (Champagne or non Champagne) and includes vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free options plus a selection of teas, coffees and infusions. You can book here and read more from our ultimate list of 62 Places for Afternoon Tea in Ireland here

5. Saying Cheers to a Sober Summer!

For as long as we can remember the typical celebrations at Irish weddings have always centred around alcohol, but this trend is definitely changing. Although not everyone will be up for embracing an alcohol-free wedding (a recent poll on our Instagram indicated that 80% of you would not consider it, while 20% of you are considering it), there is undoubtedly a shift to low and no alcohol weddings, with lots more options of non alcohol drinks available in the market. Planning in alcohol-free drink experiences at your wedding, such as mocktail stations or coffee carts, are now a non-negotiable. Luckily there are so many more yummy non alcohol drinks coming to the market, and Mother Root is a brand we have just recently discovered. Delicious and spicy and with gut loving apple cider vinegar, this would bring the perfect kick to your mocktail bar. This tipple is widely available (we spotted it in the shelves of our local Tesco!) but if you can't find it, and for a stockist near you do check their website Motherroot.com. Cheers and happy August!
