Updated October 18, 2026: we checked every price and link.
The best wedding planner book for most couples is bloom’s wedding planner, a 9-by-11-inch hardcover with budget tools, guest list and vendor pages, 18 undated months and three pockets for contracts. If you just got engaged (hello, holiday proposals) or you’re shopping for a friend who did, these 20 picks cover fill-in planners, binders, books worth reading and digital planners, from a $4.99 Canva template to a custom binder that starts at $105.99.
To choose them, our editors compared listings from bloom, Erin Condren, Scribble & Dot, Papier, Anthropologie, Peter Pauper Press, Etsy shops and book publishers, read each one’s personalization, shipping and return policies, and checked every price on Oct. 18, 2026. Personalized planners and digital downloads almost never come back, so each pick says what you can return and what you can’t.

The best guided wedding planner books
Fill-in planners with the worksheets already printed: budget, guest list, vendors and a calendar.
For planning out of your tote bag between vendor calls on your lunch break
Peter Pauper Press The Wedding Planner Checklist
Eighty pages, 5 3/4 by 8 1/4 inches, and small enough to ride in your bag between venue tours. It has fill-in lists and charts for the pre-wedding parties and the day itself, guided note pages for each vendor and venue, and a pocket inside the back cover for business cards and receipts. Board covers and an elastic band keep it shut. It won’t hold a stack of contracts, so keep a folder at home for those.
For the couple who wants every quote, contract and seating chart in one book before the group chat weighs in
bloom daily planners Wedding Planner & Organizer, Gold Scallops
Our top pick is a 9-by-11-inch hardcover on a gold coil that lies flat, which matters when you’re copying down a caterer’s quote with one hand. Inside are vision boards, budget planning tools, guest list and shower guest list pages, seating charts, gift and thank-you trackers, vendor contact logs with a worksheet for each vendor category, and day-of checklists. The 18 monthly calendars are undated, so they start the month you do. The brand says, “Three storage pockets provide ample space for contracts and forms,” and that’s the reason it beats the prettier books on this list.
For the pile of venue quotes currently living on your passenger seat
Peter Pauper Press Ultimate Wedding Planner & Organizer
This 144-page, 8 1/2-by-11-inch planner runs from the pre-wedding parties through the honeymoon, with budget and schedule pages, timelines, checklists, diagrams and blank pages for vision boards. Peter Pauper says the “sturdy wire-o binding lies flat for ease of use,” and durable folders hold menus, estimates, receipts and contracts. The eucalyptus cover has gold foil and no personalization, so it’s an easy shower gift you can order the week of.
For the guest list that started at 120 and is now negotiating for 200
KeepsakePaper Personalized Wedding Planner Book, Sweet Hydrangea
KeepsakePaper’s 186-page, 6.5-by-9-inch planner has a guest tracker sized for 200 guests, plus budget pages, checklists, wedding-day and reception timelines and an undated 18-month calendar. It’s $37.95 in soft cover or $43.95 in hard cover, with your names on the front, and the shop ships in 3 to 5 business days from San Leandro, California (shipping was $8.29 when we checked). There are no pockets and no returns. When the addresses are all in, our guide to addressing wedding invitations takes it from there.
For the planner person who already owns highlighters in six shades of blush
Scribble & Dot Wedding Planner Book and Organizer
Scribble & Dot fills this undated planner with 250 pages of thick 160gsm ivory paper, and the brand says the pages resist ink bleeding, so the highlighters are safe. It’s about 9.4 by 6.7 inches, with vision boards, a budget planner, checklists and timelines, a guest list tracker, seating charts, and pages for the ceremony, reception, pre-wedding parties and honeymoon. It comes tissue-wrapped in a gift box, which makes it an easy engagement present. Nothing gets personalized, so there’s no proof to approve before it ships.
For the friend who screamed first when the ring photo hit the group chat
Papier x Anthropologie Wedding Planner
This is the planner our editors would wrap for a newly engaged friend: a light green fabric-covered hardcover, 192 pages and 11 1/4 by 7 1/2 inches, with structured pages for budgets, guest lists, timelines and inspiration. Anthropologie says it’s “designed to hold every detail in one place,” and the ring binding lies flat for writing. It isn’t personalized, so there’s no proof to approve, and Anthropologie takes returns within 30 days if she already owns a planner. The Emily Post Institute says an engagement gift “need not be expensive or elaborate,” and $45 fits that brief. Shipping is free at $50, so a card and a candle get you there.
For the maid of honor whose gift has to make the bride cry at the shower
ThePaperMemory Our Wedding Planner Book, Real Gold Foil
Real gold, silver or rose gold foil puts your names on the cover of this 6-by-8.75-inch hardcover ($58.50), or skip the foil and print in black or white for $53.25. It comes in about 20 cover colors, and inside are checklists, to-do lists, an itemized budget and tabs for vendors, the bachelorette party and the honeymoon. Production takes 5 to 7 business days after you approve a digital preview (say yes to one on the order form), and it ships from Lindon, Utah. Both prices were 25 percent off with a countdown timer when we checked, and returns aren’t accepted.
For the long engagement, because 18 months of to-do lists needs room
posypaper Wedding Planner Book 6×9, Floral Frame
At 250 pages, posypaper’s 6-by-9-inch planner has budget, guest list and vendor pages, timelines and day-of schedules, ceremony and reception planning, honeymoon pages and 18 months of undated monthly calendars. The gold coil lies flat under a clear plastic cover, and you choose from 16 cover colors (dusty blue and sage are the ones we’d pick) with up to 50 characters on the front. Etsy showed free shipping to the U.S. from the shop in Vancouver when we checked, but returns aren’t accepted and cancellations close 24 hours after you order.
For the planner that has to look good on the coffee table when your future in-laws come over
Papier With Love Binder Wedding Planner
Bound in blue fabric with 192 pages of heavy 120gsm paper, this is the best-looking book on the list, and personalization is free. Papier says the pages are “designed to guide you through each stage of the planning journey,” from mood boards to post-wedding notes. It’s about 7.4 by 9.7 inches, but Papier doesn’t list its sections, so expect fewer worksheets than bloom or Scribble & Dot. Personalized orders generally can’t be returned, though Papier asks you to get in touch within 30 days if you’re unhappy.
Wedding planner binders with pockets for contracts
Ring binders and organizers with room for the paper that piles up: contracts, quotes, swatches and business cards.
For the bride with fabric swatches in every coat pocket
Peter Pauper Press Tying the Knot: The Ultimate Wedding Organizer
Swatches, menus, estimates and receipts each get a home in the plastic pockets of this hardcover three-ring binder, and a business-card page collects every vendor who hands you one. At 10 1/2 by 11 1/2 inches, it holds 112 pages split by dividers into budgeting; parties and events; attire, invitations and announcements; flowers, music and photography; and the ceremony, reception and honeymoon. Tips, timelines and checklists run through every section. Because it’s a ring binder, you can punch and add your own pages, like the venue’s floor plan or a printed guest list. That flexibility is why it’s our favorite binder.
For the couple who wants to bring only the vendor pages to the cake tasting
Lsite Linen Wedding Planner Book, Personalized
Split rings mean the pages come out and rearrange, so you can carry just the vendor section to a tasting and leave the rest at home. With pages, it includes sections for vendors, budget, guest list, seating, the dress, cake and flowers, an 18-month planner and 12 weekly spreads, plus a pocket and stickers. Get the large A5 with pages ($66); the small A6 ($55) is 3.9 by 6.5 inches, closer to a passport than a planner, and the “Cover No Pages” options are only the binder. Names or a date are foil-stamped on the linen in gold, silver or black after you approve a mockup, and personalized orders can’t be returned.
For the planner you’ll shelve next to the wedding album when it’s all over
MarthaBrook Personalised Wedding Planner & Organiser
Linen in natural stone, ivory, blush or lilac covers this organizer, with A5 pages split into venue, suppliers, wardrobe, guests and invites, and notes, plus checklists, timelines and one keepsake pocket. “This luxury planner is made by hand here in the UK,” the London shop says, and your two names are foil-embossed on the front. It ships free from the U.K., and the shop covers U.S. tariffs and duties, so there’s no surprise fee at the door. Add the gift box ($65.53) if it’s headed to a shower.
For the person whose spreadsheet has conditional formatting and wants a binder to match
CatchThisMoment Personalized Wedding Planner Binder
If you want the binder itself to match your color palette, this is the splurge: you choose the cover color and lettering color, add names, a date or your own text, and approve a proof before it’s made. The A5 binder alone is $105.99; the A5 full set ($149.53) adds 52 planning pages with checklists and timelines, 10 note pages and 10 plastic sleeves in a kraft gift box, and A4 and letter sizes cost more. It’s made in Lithuania with U.S. duties included and takes 3 to 7 working days to produce, and those prices were 30 percent off with a countdown when we checked. The listing has only two reviews, but the shop holds a 5.0 rating across 11,800.
The best wedding planning books to read
Advice from a celebrity planner and the creator of A Practical Wedding. Read one before you book anything.
For the couple who needs a reminder that the napkin color is not a referendum on the marriage
A Practical Wedding by Meg Keene
Meg Keene created APracticalWedding.com, and the revised 2019 edition of her book (240 pages, paperback) is the one to read before you sign a single contract. It works through what the engagement is for, setting priorities, deciding whether to DIY, talking with family, and venues and vows, with advice from the site’s readers. Its publisher’s description sums up the thesis: what matters on the day “is not so much how it looked as how it felt.” Read this first, then fill in her workbook, below.
For a real budget and a mother with a 400-pin Pinterest board
A Practical Wedding Planner by Meg Keene
The workbook companion is a 256-page paperback from 2016 with checklists for flowers, food and the final venue walk-through, plus spreadsheets for the guest list and seating chart, the budget and the venue search. Keene walks through setting a budget, hiring vendors and planning catering and rentals in plain language. Her publisher calls it “a no-nonsense wedding planner,” and that’s the right read for couples who’d rather set the budget before they tour venues.
For the person who reads the entire manual before plugging anything in
The Wedding Book by Mindy Weiss with Lisbeth Levine
At 496 pages, this revised 2016 paperback runs from the engagement to the honeymoon: cakes, stationery, dress shopping, budgets, contracts, etiquette, family issues and thank-you notes, with lists, schedules and timelines along the way. Weiss wrote it with Lisbeth Levine, a contributing editor at InStyle Weddings. It’s a reference for the nightstand, not a book to write in, so pair it with one of the guided planners above. For the short version, start with our 9 tips from celebrity wedding planner Mindy Weiss.
Printable and digital wedding planners
Templates for Canva, GoodNotes, Notion and Google Sheets. They’re instant downloads, and none of them can be returned.
For the DIY bride with a Canva login and a three-hole punch
CreativeUnionDesign Ultimate Wedding Planner Canva Template, 200+ Pages
For $4.99 you get more than 200 editable pages in Canva (or Corjl): a vision and ideas planner, a lists and plans planner, a bridal shower planner and vow worksheets, with guest lists, seating plans, vendor contacts and budget tracking. Print what you need and punch it into any binder above. The shop has more than 268,000 sales, but its FAQ says the template works on a computer, not a phone, and like every digital download here, it can’t be returned.
For planning on your iPad on the commute, because you haven’t bought paper since college
tinacreativeco GoodNotes Digital Wedding Planner, 300+ Pages
Built for GoodNotes and Notability, this hyperlinked planner comes in black and beige versions of about 300 pages each, with budget, guest list, seating chart, timeline and vendor contact pages, an undated 12-month calendar and 52 weekly layouts. The bundle adds 300 digital stickers and a 116-page Canva day-of binder you can hand to your coordinator. It was $7.78 on a 70 percent off sale when we checked (regular $25.92). Instant downloads can’t be returned or canceled, so confirm you use GoodNotes or Notability before you buy.
For the couple who wants the budget math done by formulas, not feelings
PrioriDigitalStudio Wedding Planner Spreadsheet
One download gets you the planner in both Google Sheets and Excel, with 21 tabs including a dashboard, the wedding budget, guest list, wedding party, vendor contacts, an automated calendar, a seating plan and a gifts and thank-you tracker, plus a separate honeymoon budget planner. The seller recommends Google Sheets on a Mac and says formula cells are locked by default, so nobody breaks the math. Our editors’ tip: put it in a shared Google Drive folder so you and your partner see the same numbers (the listing doesn’t mention sharing). It was $14.65 on sale (regular $29.30), and digital files can’t be returned.
For the partner who swears they’ll help if it’s in an app they already use
TTBCo Ultimate Notion Wedding Planner Template
Notion fans get linked pages for the guest list with RSVP and meal tracking, seating, a vendor tracker with deposits and balances, an estimated-versus-actual budget, the itinerary, checklists and a wedding countdown. The listing says it supports real-time collaboration and runs on Notion’s free plan, which makes it the easiest way here to split the work with your partner. The Australian shop prices in Australian dollars, so expect the U.S. price to drift around $33. It has only four reviews (all five stars), and instant downloads can’t be returned.
When should you start a wedding planner book?
Start it the week you get engaged, before you tour a single venue. The Emily Post Institute’s 12-to-24-month wedding planning checklist lists “Determine a budget” and settling the size of the guest list before choosing ceremony and reception locations, and those are the first pages to fill in. Several of the planners above (bloom, Scribble & Dot, posypaper and KeepsakePaper) use undated calendars, so they start whatever month you do. Our checklist of what to do after getting engaged covers the rest of the first 30 days.
Buying one for someone else?
