Something Blue Reimagined – Elegant & Romantic Spring Wedding Style at Rownhams House

1 year ago 265

This elegant spring editorial draws inspiration from a soft, refined palette and a desire to balance timeless styling with modern, creative details. Set within the graceful surroundings of Rownhams House in Hampshire, the shoot captures a fresh take on the wedding day tradition of ‘something blue’ with contemporary bridal styling, thoughtful touches and artistic flourishes.

This beautiful venue was the perfect fit. Natural light poured through the windows, working in harmony with the soft, feminine palette. The styling felt effortless – a gentle mix of texture, pattern and detail that brought the idea to life with ease.

A standout detail is the exquisite veil by incredibly talented and very lovely Rebecca of Rebecca Anne Designs, its pale blue embroidered floral detail adding a painterly softness to the bridal look. Paired with the romantic Bridgerton-vibes ballgown by British designer Josephine Scott, adorned with its own intricate floral motif, the overall effect is both striking and graceful.

A standout detail was the exquisite veil by the incredibly talented, and incredibly lovely Rebecca of Rebecca Anne Designs. The pale blue floral embroidery added a painterly softness to the overall styling and brought a delicate, romantic energy to the shoot. It complemented Josephine Scott’s Bridgerton inspired ballgown beautifully – a showstopping piece with intricate floral detailing and a real sense of drama.

This editorial invites modern couples to celebrate personal style, to take creative risks, and to approach their wedding day as a true reflection of who they are.

I’d been wanting to do a shoot in blue and white tones for a while. I loved this cool palette and wanted to create something romantic that honoured the season of spring.

Rownhams House, a beautiful Georgian House located within 12 glorious acres of gardens and woodland in Southhampton. After my very first visit to the venue, I fell in love with the breathtaking beautiful reception room. This chic, natural light filled space with blue accents was the perfect location for our ‘something blue’ wedding editorial.

For this editorial, I wanted to mix classic details with more modern, unexpected ones. I really believe weddings have moved on from ‘trends’ – there’s so much more freedom now to do things your own way.

More and more, I’m seeing couples being braver with their choices, adding touches that feel personal and playful and my hope is that this editorial encourages this.

If I could offer one piece of advice for couples planning weddings it would be this: be fearless with your ideas. Make it as creative and original as you dare.
