When Savvy Bridal founder Imene McCoy opened her first boutique, she approached the industry with global fashion experience—and a longtime fondness for fairy tale romances. McCoy, who was born in North Africa and grew up in London, envisioned a boutique that could play an indelible role in the real-life love stories of midwestern brides.
“When I first opened Savvy Bridal in Kansas City, my goal was simple but powerful: to create a sophisticated bridal shopping experience that offered affordable luxury without compromising the quality, service, or personalization that every bride deserves,” she says. “I saw a real need in the market for a boutique that could bridge that gap—somewhere brides could feel truly celebrated without feeling priced out.”

Crisp black-and-white branding welcomes brides to the Crossroads District shop, where natural light floods private seating areas, custom dressing robes hang in each changing room, pastel-colored Champagne glasses sit alongside delicate macarons, and colorful arrangements of dried flowers soften cream-colored cinderblock walls. A thoughtfully edited selection of designers includes Capsule Bridal, Beloved Bridal, Anora Bridal, Serene by Madi Lane, and Evie Young by Madi Lane.
“Bridal fashion is having a major moment with texture—think romantic 3D floral appliqués, pearl details, and sculptural draping,” says McCoy. “These elements add dimension and make each gown feel like a one-of-a-kind masterpiece. It’s all about personalization, and giving brides a look that feels truly their own.”
