David and Paul's real wedding in the heart of Wicklow was pure bliss. 135 of their loved ones joined them for their rustic and relaxed celebration at Tinakilly Country House Hotel. The seaside country house oozes old-world charm and it was a beautiful setting for their modern and fun April celebration that was bursting with heart. Phil Voon of Give Us A Goo captured every precious moment from their first look that is guaranteed to move you to tears, their deeply personal ceremony, their fun-filled reception with styling courtesy of their families, and their first dance under the stars. Trust us when we say you won't want to miss a second of their enchanting day. David is from Bray in Co. Wicklow and Paul is English, hailing from London. They first got chatting online and they had their first date in a bar in Tralee, Kerry. They tell us, "Paul had recently moved back to his family home from London, less than four weeks earlier, while David had temporarily relocated to Kerry for work as a GP locum for a few months… and the rest is history." David popped the question while they were on holiday in the Azores, Portugal. He surprised Paul by a pool beneath a waterfall, right in the middle of a hike! "The moment felt completely magical and perfectly captured how special the trip was for both of us." From the moment they started planning the big day it was their priority to make sure it was a chilled out and wonderfully fun occasion for everyone. "We went for a rustic feel, creating a relaxed and inviting atmosphere where guests could chat, unwind, or dance the night away with family and friends." "Our celebrant Shona Weymes was simply amazing; working with her was a joy. She set the perfect tone for our celebration and did such a lovely job that many of our guests thought she was an old friend of ours," they reminisce. Music was central to creating the upbeat and relaxed atmosphere they desired for their ceremony. Castle String Quartet played classical versions of modern songs they adore: Pompeii, Somewhere Only We Know, Here Comes the Sun, Material Girl, and Simply the Best. "Each song had personal meaning for us, and the readings were especially meaningful as they were delivered by friends." How immensely dapper are our two grooms? They opted for timeless tweed suits from Hunter Treacy with elegant brogues from Bray Footwear while their buttonholes were created by Fleurtique Florist. Their families played a special role in designing and creating their seating plan and table displays which made everything feel even more personal and special for the couple. It was love at first sight when they arrived at Tinakilly House. "From the moment we walked into Tinakilly House, we knew it was the one. The venue and location stood out straight away, and the staff were so friendly, supportive and so kind to us on the day." We're smitten by their stunning celebration so of course we were going to ask them to share their top planning tips. “We found it helpful to set aside specific time each week during planning to focus on logistics, so it didn’t become overwhelming," they explain. "On the day itself, we made a point of checking in with each other regularly to take it all in, as it goes by very quickly." Their first dance was another magical moment they will cherish forever. They swayed to I Will Follow You by Toulouse in the wooded area surrounded by their guests’ holding sparklers and then Spring Break ensured the party didn't stop well into the early hours. While their honeymoon is still in the planning stages they went on a mini-moon to Girona in Spain and it was the perfect weekend trip. The sweetest congratulations to David and Paul!
