Shirley and Ran’s wedding at the Ritz-Carlton, Laguna Niguel was a serene, poetic celebration designed by the talented team at Manna Sun Events. Inspired by nature’s quiet rhythms — light, shadow, stone, water, and breeze — the design blended modern refinement with soft Eastern influences. With florals by DUET Botanical and timeless imagery captured by Jeremy Chou Photography, this California celebration felt less like an event and more like an artful return to nature.
The design centered on soft purples, sage, taupe, and earthy neutrals, creating a palette that felt organic, calming, and deeply connected to the landscape. Muted orange and golden accents added just enough contrast to mimic the shifting play of light and shadow throughout the day.
The ceremony embraced the philosophy of “changing views with every step.” Instead of one central focal point, guests moved through a space that gradually unfolded — chiffon panels swaying like ripples on water, floating florals resting on shallow reflective ponds, and mirrored aisle panels blending sky and earth. The effect was immersive and serene.
Natural textures continued into cocktail hour, where river stones, wood tables, black rattan seating, and free-form florals created a wabi-sabi balance of simplicity and intention. A circular wooden bar anchored the space, while sculptural mushroom accents added a whimsical, storybook touch.
Dinner was a harmony of texture and color: wooden tables with black rattan chairs, velvet napkins, crystal glassware, and organically styled florals. Edible elements like grapes, ginger, and mulberries brought the earth directly to each tablescape. Round velvet-draped tables in soft purple paired with sage-toned plates created a romantic, layered effect.
The cake display resembled a modern art installation, surrounded by cascading florals and candlelight. Throughout the wedding, florals acted as the visual language — airy, sculptural, and deeply poetic.
This celebration transformed a modern venue into a living, breathing extension of nature: serene, tactile, and beautifully intentional.
