Quiet Luxury Meets Timeless Elegance at Horetown House: Savannah & Jack

Bespoke and breathtaking, we are so excited to bring you the real wedding of Savannah and Jack today. The couple tied the knot at the luxurious and sustainable Wexford wedding venue Horetown House on a gloriously sunny day in July. They curated a celebration that was completely true to them: elegant, timeless, understated, and featuring a little sprinkle of quiet luxury. With the picturesque gardens of Horetown House providing the most beautiful backdrop they kept the styling timeless with monochrome touches, delicate lace, pops of soft pink, baby's breath and airy white drapery. Surrounded by 133 of their cherished people, every moment was filled with love. Pore over all the dreamy details with elegant and emotive imagery courtesy of Naomi Christina below. Enjoy!

Savannah is from Dublin and Jack is from Wicklow and like many modern love stories, theirs began with a swipe to the right on a dating app. "Jack slid into Savannah’s DMs and asked her out on a date at Coppinger Row (July 2020), the very place where he would later propose. Savannah's mother Lyn, and grandmother, Lucy, dropped her off for the date and casually strolled past the restaurant multiple times, hoping to catch a glimpse of the 'nice Lucan boy.' When Savannah finally walked through the door, she knew she’d hit the jackpot. Jack stood up all 6 feet 4 inches of him and greeted her with a kiss on the cheek, and pulled out her chair like a true gentleman. Over dinner, the conversation flowed, but due to Covid restrictions, their magical evening had to end early."

The very next day, Jack sent a text: he had a lovely time and wanted to see her again! "Their second date was a walk in the Avon in Blessington, accompanied by Golden Retriever Harley, and from there, everything just fell into place. Then the country went into lockdown, but love always finds a way. Jack had an 'essential worker' letter that let him cross the police checkpoint at Brittas and spend time with Savannah. With nowhere to go and no distractions, they got to know each other. They spent those months cooking, watching movies, and falling in love." Their love story has taken them on so many adventures: across three continents, into their first home, and into the world of pawrenthood with their beloved Cocker Spaniel, Sergio!

In late 2023, a trip came up on the radar and Aisling wondered if she may return home wearing an engagement ring. "Jack’s sister Aisling asked if he would join her in New York for the St Patrick’s Day half marathon. Jack was immediately interested in the run; Savannah was more interested in New York! Soon, both families had joined the trip, with eight of them heading to New York for race day. As Jack prepared for the half marathon, Savannah was busy booking her hair, lashes, brows and tan, convinced that with both families coming along, surely a proposal had to be on the cards. Race day came and went, but no proposal. On the final day, they headed to Battery Park and, after missing the ferry to Ellis Island. Think JFK Jr. and Carolyn Bessette fight in Battery Park Jack suggested Central Park. Savannah thought this was finally (classic engagement location). Unfortunately, Jack had absolutely no proposal planned, much to the amusement of their families and friends."

Fast forward to November 2024 and Savannah had given up on the New York theory but she was still hopeful about their upcoming weekend at Monart. She was completely unaware that Jack had been secretly planning his proposal for months. "On Saturday night, while Savannah was out for dinner with friends, Jack arranged for her friend Clodagh to give her a card. Inside was a message asking her to meet him where they had their first date, where he would be waiting on one knee to ask her to marry him. A short time later, Savannah arrived at Coppinger Row to find Jack waiting for her. Through tears and hugs, he asked her to marry him and, through even more tears, she said yes. They celebrated with a beautiful dinner and laughed about how perfectly Jack had managed to surprise her. Six years after their first date in Coppinger Row, they’re now beginning their next adventure together: marriage."

"Aside from the obvious of being married to each other, our biggest priority from the beginning was that everyone had an unforgettable time," the bride shares. When they began planning their big day they ranked what mattered most to them and then and allocated their budget accordingly. "We knew these were the areas where we were willing to spend more to get the right people and create the experience we wanted."

The venue and food was their top priority. They wanted an exclusive venue that would give them a sense of intimacy with their guests - Horetown House ticked every single box for them. "We didn't want it to feel like we were at a traditional wedding venue hosting hundreds of people; we wanted it to feel like a huge house party in a beautiful setting. We could already imagine our family having relaxed conversation in the drawing room or outside. They had beautiful gardens for an outdoor ceremony. They only have one wedding per weekend, so I knew we weren’t going to be treated like another number. The staff were so warm, accommodating, professional, but also communicated clearly and transparently and were efficient. We knew the staff by name, and they knew us. From the moment we booked, right through to the wedding day, they made such an effort to make everything feel personal, and that added so much to the experience. Jack loved the cellar bar in the basement, definitely a Unique Selling Point for them."

Music was another huge priority for the bride as she feels it completely sets the mood of a wedding and it is a powerful way to keep the memory of the celebration alive long after it is over. "We were excited to have Rachel Grace sing during our ceremony. She had such an incredible range, from Dermot Kennedy to Olivia Dean, and she created exactly the atmosphere we wanted."

Their ceremony was officiated by Enda Harte and the readings included The Wedding Poem by Whitney Hanson which they found on One Fab Day. "I loved the simple sentiment and we met on Tinder so loved the idea of it starting off as a spark but then growing and strengthening."

Their wedding aesthetic was inspired by the nuptials of Irish style influencer Ciara O’Doherty. "We booked in to see the venue after seeing her pictures. The detail in her decor was amazing. It was clear her wedding was romantic and editorial in its styling, but deliberately high-energy and unpretentious and party first. Jack's sister Aisling had mentioned Horetown House to us but we hadn't looked at it yet. The moment I saw her NYE wedding we booked it after a quick look around and I knew I wanted to adopt so many elements of her gorgeous day."

Enlisting a talented media team was another goal as it was incredibly important that the day was captured correctly so they could cherish the memories forever. "I wanted a media team who could capture not just what the wedding looked like, but how it felt. We wanted the footage to be editorial, romantic and timeless, so that it complemented the overall aesthetic."

Savannah was a vision of undeniable elegance wearing a Rime Arodaky wedding dress with delicate lace accents from Pearl Lane which she styled with fingerless lace gloves, Jimmy Choo heels, accessories from Maison Sabben and her wedding ring, of course, which was by Chupi.

The bride wanted to feel like the absolute best version of herself and she enlisted two powerhouse creatives who had done her hair and makeup multiple times before. "I was so glad to have Ellie Fay and Abbie McCarthy, they understood me. I had my trial with them the morning of my hen before flying to Ibiza, which gave us the chance to see exactly how everything held up and make a few tweaks before the wedding. On the day, they nailed it. I fear I will never feel as beautiful as I did that morning.”

"Something I don't think you fully appreciate until you're actually getting married is how important the personalities of your vendors are. These people are with you during some of the most emotional and exciting moments of the day. On the morning of the wedding, there was so much laughing, hugging and crying between us and our teams. They brought such a lovely energy into the room, and having people around us who we genuinely liked made the whole experience even more special. Which is something to consider when you are booking vendors,” she explains.

The bridesmaids exuded pure sophistication in black gowns by Club L with off-the-shoulder necklines which they styled with their own shoes and mixed mini bucket bags by Ganni that Savannah gifted them.

She felt so blessed to have her leading ladies by her side on her happy day. "My bridesmaids were so amazing for so many reasons but on the day they gifted me a book named after one of our favourite books by Dolly Alderton, Everything I Know about Love. Inside the book was messages from all my favourite people and pictures throughout the years of times gone by wishing me well for the day and talking about what our friendship meant to them. This is something I will treasure forever and is a priceless gift."

The grooms party was so dapper with Jack wearing a tux from Louis Copeland & Sons and shoes from Benetti Menswear. He completed the look with immensely sentimental accessory: his wedding ring which was his grandad's. The groomsmen wore tuxes from Benetti Menswear.

Their dogs Sergio and Harley couldn't be at the wedding but they were sweetly there in spirit. "Sergio would hate the lack of 1:1 attention and would get jealous and everyone hugging us so we included him on the napkins and cocktail choices so he still felt a part of it."

"Aesthetically, our goal was always quiet luxury and timeless elegance. I wanted to look back at our photographs in 10 or 20 years and not immediately know that we got married in 2026 because we'd followed a particular trend," she highlights. The romantic flowers were by Irish flower farm and design studio Wallflower and the stationery, which included a stunning fabric welcome sign adorned with glossy black bows, was by Feel Good Invites.

They opted for a vintage-style Lambeth wedding cake by Ruta Bakery which was dappled with blackberries, blueberries, cherries, and figs.

In a wonderfully moving moment, Savannah paid a beautiful tribute to her cousin Karla who tragically passed away in 2015. "It was important me to give my flowers to her lovely mammy for them to go on her grave her presence was missed on the day but I was delighted I could do that."

Savannah highlights a piece of wedding planning advice her wise friend Michelle Roche said to her which is social media will be a best and worst friend during the planning. "My biggest piece of advice would be to take inspiration from other people, but don't let their weddings become the benchmark for yours. Be really clear on what matters to you as a couple, what you want your day to feel like and what your priorities are. Know yourself and your goals well enough that you can take inspiration without falling down the rabbit hole of comparison. I'd also say communication is everything and not just when planning a wedding, but in a marriage too. The times Jack and I fell out during the planning process were usually when we hadn't communicated clearly or weren't aligned on what we both wanted, particularly when it came to money. You have to be willing to have the uncomfortable conversations, agree on your priorities and be honest about what you can and can't afford."

While they definitely had a few disagreements about money during the planning process, on the wedding day they didn't think about the cost once. "What we remember is how happy we felt, how much fun we had and how incredible it was to have everyone we love in one place. It's probably financially irresponsible advice, but where you can, spend the money on the things that genuinely matter to you. I don't remember what individual things cost, I remember how they made me feel. Lastly, one I wish we'd listened to ourselves on is be strict with your RSVP deadline. There will always be circumstances you can't control. Jack's godfather ended up in hospital the week of our wedding. But there were also people who hadn't responded by our deadline and who ultimately didn't come, meaning we had paid for their place. We had set our RSVP deadline two months before the wedding and said that anyone who hadn't responded by then would be marked as a no. I wish we'd stuck to it. It can feel easier to add people in the final weeks, but once you've given final numbers to the venue, you're often paying for those places whether someone turns up or not."

If you are a bride and you are considering doing a speech Savannah says absolutely do it. "It's slowly becoming the norm and you are more likely to regret what you didn't say on the day versus what you did. You will never get the chance to do it again so I am glad I was encouraged to do it. Ultimately, I think the biggest piece of advice is to remember to take it all in and don't lose sight of why you are doing it in the first place and that is to marry the love of your life and have everyone how both love in one room celebrating you both."

Later, The Dream Band brought the house down. "They primarily play exclusive venues, so we had actually never seen them perform before booking them, which made that particular spend feel like a bit of a gamble. But they were worth every cent. Jo Petit (lead singer) completely understood how to work the room. The dancefloor was full from the second they started, and there were multiple audible groans when he announced their final song."

They are planning to go to Japan on their honeymoon and visit Tokyo, Kyoto and Osaka. "We love our local Japanese restaurant Tani so we are excited to hit every food spot and experience a different culture."

Savannah and Jack, the biggest congratulations from all of us at One Fab Day. Thank you to our lovely couple to photographer Naomi Christina for allowing us to share this spellbinding Horetown House wedding with our readers.
