When two history teachers fall in love in Dublin City, it only makes sense that their wedding day becomes a beautiful new chapter in the city's storied past. Ciara and Adam, originally from Dublin and Meath, crafted a day that perfectly balanced classic, timeless elegance with personal, modern details. From a historic ceremony under the dome of City Hall to an unforgettable foodie reception for 145 guests at The Dean Townhouse, their July 22nd wedding was the ultimate love letter to Dublin, and to each other. The day was atmospherically captured by photographer Paola Rech, and we are smitten! Let's get into it!

Having met through work (they are both secondary school teachers), Ciara and Adam's love story began when they became friends as part of a larger group who would go on weekends away. "We had been to Berlin, Madrid and Belfast in the space of a few months and by the end of a weekend in Belfast we were together!" says Ciara.

And the proposal? "Adam popped the question in our favourite city, Amsterdam. We travelled over on the day we finished work for the summer. We arrived to the Pulitzer Hotel and on the walk to one of our favourite restaurants, Adam had a canal boat that he rented waiting and he proposed on Prinsengracht."

But before we hear more about the wedding can we just take a moment for the radiant bride and those absolutely stunning flowers. Ciara wore a gown by KYHA Bride from The Suite, paired with Christian Louboutin heels and accessorised with jewellery from Gray’s Dublin and Astrid & Miyu.

And the flowers? Ciara's lush bridal bouquet from Total Flower Designs featured white Phalaenopsis orchids, soft peach and blush garden roses, and delicate accent florals in a romantic, semi-cascading style.The bridesmaids, who all wore super chic black dresses from Odd Muse, also carried matching blooms.

Adam and his groomsmen looked super sharp as they stopped for a pint on the way to the wedding, in classic tailoring from McKenna Man (Remus Uomo) and Next, keeping the party looking effortlessly sophisticated.

To lift the black-tie look, the couple infused lots of bright, joyful bursts of energy throughout, including the super colourful floral arrangements. Maple and Rae created the vibrant typographic-led stationery and signage.

The couple included lots of details to make their guests feel special, writing a personal note to every single guest. At the start of the ceremony, as flower girl Katie sang Stand By Me, guests were asked to open their cards.

The musical magic started early. Ciara walked down the aisle to a rendition of Simply the Best - a surprise tribute to Adam’s Nana, who had no idea it was coming.

The couple described their vision for their day as "modern, simple, and classic," built around a timeless foundation but layered with unique touches. A highlight were the readings, including their friend Kate's reading of the classic All I Know About Love by Neil Gaiman.

The mothers of the bride and groom partook in a beautiful traditional unity candle ceremony, looking stunning in outfits from Nicola Ross and Veni Infantino from McElhenny’s.

For Ciara and Adam, the city itself was a core part of their love story. "We love Dublin," Ciara says. "Our favourite dates are always a new food spot or wine bar. We walked past Dublin City Hall after food and drinks one evening and said to each other, 'This is where we wanted to get married.' We both teach history, so we loved the building's heritage and the fact that we could become a part of its timeline."

"We really admired the work of our photographer Paolo Rech and got lots of inspiration from the other City Hall weddings she was posting! We wanted modern, simple and classic but with some fun touches."

Following the ceremony, the celebration moved to the ultra-stylish The Dean Townhouse. Known for its incredible food and chic, contemporary atmosphere, it was the ideal venue to spoil their guests with flowing drinks, including the couple's favourite cocktails, Palomas and Whiskey Sours.

"We love music and are also big foodies so they were our two big priorities for the day," says Ciara.

The reception centerpieces featured wine bottles saved by the couple from special dinners and occasions shared with different guests over the years.

Every guest also found a custom tambourine by Crafty McBee at their seat, ensuring the dance floor stayed loud and lively all night long.

Alongside live guest sketches by Aine at Pollock on Paper and prosecco from Art of Bubbles, the couple had a close friend host a round of bingo after dessert. Before the band even took the stage, guests were already up and dancing on their chairs!

The had their first dance to a custom version of Adore You by Fred Again, which started as a slow, emotional ballad before exploding into high-energy, and getting everyone onto the dance floor.

When asked what advice they would give to other couples, Ciara says it is all about teamwork."Our bridal party were incredible," she says. "It’s so important to have people with you that you know will be there for you on the days leading up to the wedding."

After a whirlwind wedding weekend, the newlyweds jetted off on a multi-stop honeymoon across South Africa. Their adventure began soaking in the culture of Cape Town, followed by wine tasting in Stellenbosch and Franschhoek. The grand finale took them north for a luxury safari experience, staying at the Langa Langa tented camp and the iconic Kruger Shalati - a hotel uniquely built inside a train stationed on a bridge. "It was the most incredible trip and we can’t recommend it enough," says Ciara.
