This beautifully elegant wedding photoshoot at Earnshill House was created to showcase a Somerset wedding venue that offers something increasingly rare, complete privacy, flexibility and a strong sense of place.
Still a family home, Earnshill combines generous proportions with calm, characterful interiors and far-reaching views across the surrounding countryside, making it well suited to weddings that take place over several days, perhaps a long and luxurious weekend with your most nearest, dearest and loved ones.
Planned and styled by Fern Godfrey, the shoot brought together an exceptional team of South West wedding creatives to show what can be achieved when local talent is trusted to lead.
The focus was modern bridal elegance and atmosphere, with decisions guided by restraint and a minimalist approach rather than excess. As daylight faded, one of Earnshill’s dining rooms became the setting for an intimate dinner lit entirely by candlelight, with beautiful tall taper candles and elevated tableware, hand-drawn menus and calligraphed place cards creating a warm, considered welcome. From the shifting light at dusk to the intimacy of a candlelit dinner, the full story of the shoot was captured on film by Love My Dress recommended videographers Baxter & Ted.
Modern bridal fashion and handcrafted corsetry from the inimitable JULITA sat comfortably within the setting, styled with Freya Rose London shoes and a dining table dressed by Love My Dress recommended supplier The Luxe Collection UK. Candlelight softened the room and allowed the materials, textures and proportions of the space to speak for themselves. It is a reminder that not every part of a wedding needs to be filled or embellished, particularly when different moods are created across a longer celebration. Earnshill House offers couples the freedom to approach their wedding this way, balancing black tie formality with ease, conversation and time spent together around the table.

We wanted to bring together a team of incredible Southwest based wedding creatives to create imagery to showcase the beauty of new wedding venue Earnshill House.
I love to celebrate suppliers who operate at London standards but are based in the Southwest. There really is no need to bring down teams from London when the local talent is this strong.

Larger weddings can be accommodated in a marquee in the grounds, and smaller weddings can use the stunning rooms in the house which have incredible views of the rolling Somerset countryside.
These photos showcase the dreamy light at dusk and the atmospheric space of one of the dining rooms at Earnshill. It’s the perfect venue for a weekend wedding takeover, as you can take guests on an incredible journey over several days.

For this scene we created an intimate dinner, lit purely by candlelight, with elevated tableware and hand-drawn menu cards and calligraphed name cards to make guests feel personally welcomed.
The minimal but striking tablescape felt perfectly aligned with the modern corsetry from Julita London and the elegant accessories from Victoria Fergusson. Hopefully, it also demonstrates that you don’t need to add florals for every element of your wedding weekend.

Don’t get me wrong, I love florals and will add them wherever possible, however it’s not always necessary – particularly if you’re looking to create a different vibe for different parts of the weekend.
Earnshill also feels like a venue that shines at any time of year, but particularly in the colder months – neon striped sunrises, sparkling frosts, mist hovering over the fields, trees silhouetted against a bruised sky – it’s the stuff of English countryside dreams!

If you’re looking for a venue with charm by the bucketload, the flexibility to have the wedding you want with no packages, no specific agendas – then I’d highly recommend booking in to see Earnshill and save yourself a lot of time by booking this incredible team. It would be impossible to find a calmer, kinder bunch than this group.
