We love that city weddings are becoming more and more popular, especially in Dublin. Not only do Dublin weddings tend to be stylish and fun, but as we've seen in our real weddings, they lend themselves to some pretty cool photo ops too. So today, we're rounding up the most picturesque, unique and iconic locations for wedding photos in Dublin. Whether you've lived in the city all your life or are coming to Dublin to get married why not get a bit creative with your wedding photos? Walk your entire bridal party down Grafton Street, grab an ice-cream at Teddy's in Dun Laoghaire, or head to Ringsend for an epic shot of you two with the two chimneys - the city is your oyster! In fact, compiling this round-up of our favourite spots has made us fall in love all over again Dublin. We might not always appreciate it as Dubliners, but Georgian Dublin has some stunning buildings, beautiful parks and colourful doorways, the perfect place to stroll around and grab some pics. There are few more 'quintessentially Dublin' images than the home of Guinness, St. James' Gate, make sure you grab a pint while you're there, or maybe take a rickshaw and enjoy the journey! Perhaps the most well-trodden street in town, Grafton Street is full of fun photo ops for couples. The flower-sellers might be our fave though. The university is such a beautiful backdrop for wedding photos - even better if you first met on the Pav! From Merchants' Arch to Blooms Hotel and Meeting House Square to Cows Lane, there are dozens of great places to choose from in this famous section of the city. For wedding photos with an artistic twist, The National Gallery of Ireland's grand interiors and Georgian architecture offer a seriously stunning backdrop for elegant, one-of-a-kind portraits. One of the most beloved landmarks in the city, though you may need to wait a while to get a clear shot without lots of busy Dubliners rushing past. From the gorgeous garden outside the Chester Beatty Library, to the iconic square in Dublin Castle, this quiet haven in the city is perfect for unique wedding pictures. Every year more and more spaces around Dublin are being handed over to artists who create beautiful murals and inspiring graffiti. Grantham Street, The Bernard Shaw, and the Drury Buildings are some of the most popular locations for graffiti wedding photos in Dublin. A postcard-worthy street, lined with pubs and adorned with bunting in the heart of the city, it's little wonder this backstreet is a popular spot for couples to pause for their wedding pictures. For fun, colourful wedding photos with a distinctly Dublin feel, if you are getting married at Fallon & Byrne, why not ask permission to sneak into the grocery? From the gorgeous displays to the bustling aisles, it’s an unexpected spot for playful, candid shots with plenty of personality. We've been spotting lots of couples stopping under the colourful umbrellas on Anne's Lane, and they make for some really great pictures! One of the prettiest parks in town all year round, even on the busiest days, you'll find a romantic corner of Stephen's Green for some photos. There is no shortage of photogenic and iconic pubs in Dublin, getting a shot outside your favourite watering hole on your wedding day is a nice way to reflect your everyday life in your wedding photos. This shot outside Kehoe's is particularly cool, don't you think? From colourful cafés to historic pubs and beloved local eateries, Dublin's vibrant food scene is full of iconic venues that make stylish backdrops for unforgettable wedding photos. This wide bridge in the city centre offers some expansive views up and down the river, as well a clear shot towards Dublin City Hall, definitely worth a stop if you're nearby. Perhaps the most enduring icon of Dublin, the twin stacks, which can be seen from all along Dublin Bay make a timeless backdrop for wedding photos. Close to the chimneys, Poolbeg Lighthouse and the South Great Wall are also really beautiful for pictures. Located on Dame Street, the iconic Gay Spar and its famous rainbow crossing have become one of Dublin's most recognisable wedding photo spots. Bursting with colour and personality, it's the perfect stop for couples wanting fun, modern portraits with a true Dublin feel. Often overlooked, the Botanic Gardens in Glasnevin is one of the most idyllic destinations in the city. Gorgeous pictures guaranteed! The DART, the LUAS, a Dublin Bus, sometimes the most unlikely and unromantic places make the best pictures! For a dose of iconic Dublin character, head to the flats for wedding photos that feel effortlessly cool, candid and unmistakably city. In their retro sea-foam shades, the art deco shelters along the seafront in Clontarf make a cute spot for wedding photos in Dublin. Love Lane may be small, but it's packed with personality. Nestled in the heart of Temple Bar, its vibrant murals and love-inspired artwork make it an iconic location for romantic wedding photos. The banks of the Grand Canal are one of the most serene and photogenic parts of Dublin, and the Patrick Kavanagh statue, pondering as he gazes at the swans is a particularly opportune spot to grab some pictures. Both inside and out, Dublin City Hall is a stunning building, it's a popular ceremony venue, but it also makes a gorgeous backdrop for wedding photographs in Dublin. A hidden oasis in the heart of Dublin, offering lush greenery, romantic pathways and beautiful backdrops for wedding photos without leaving the city. Howth Head is a spectacular photography destination, already popular for engagement shoots — but wouldn’t some wedding-day portraits against those dramatic coastal views be stunning too? Grab a 99 and take a stroll on the pier, if you're getting married on Dublin's south side, we can't imagine a better place to stop for wedding photos (and treats!). The area around the Bord Gáis Energy Theatre has lots of interesting urban backdrops, for cool, alternative wedding photos. Dotted all along the coast of Dublin, Martello Towers are an iconic symbol of the capital and are located in some of the most picturesque locations for wedding photos. Dublin’s Creative Quarter, stretching around South William Street, Drury Street, Fade Street and Exchequer Street, is packed with colourful streets, quirky shopfronts and hidden corners, making it a brilliant backdrop for wedding photos that feel cool, creative and unmistakably Dublin.
