Exclusive: Guy Fieri's Son, Hunter, Is Married to Tara Bernstein! Go Inside Their Family-Focused Wedding on the Fieri Ranch

11 months ago 238

You could say that Tara Bernstein, a professional pickleball player and content creator, and Hunter Fieri, entrepreneur, TV personality, and the eldest son of Guy Fieri, met in Flavortown. "We met in February 2023 at the Super Bowl in Arizona," Tara remembers. "I was there working, hosting the Franklin NFL Pickleball experience, and I stopped by the Flavortown tailgate with some friends before the game. Next thing I know, I’m on stage dancing to Lo Cash and Diplo, spun around mid-song, and asked Hunter to take a quick picture of me. That was it. No numbers exchanged, just a funny little moment in all the chaos."

Fate wouldn't let the duo get away from each other that easily, though. Once inside the stadium, they bumped into each other again, and this time, Tara says, something clicked. "It felt like we'd known each other forever," she says. "We got so wrapped up in conversation that we barely even watched the game."

Less than a year later, in November of 2023, Hunter got down on one knee on Thanksgiving at HuntRyde Ranch, his family's property in Northern California where he grew up, and asked Tara to marry him. "It was simple and perfect," Tara says. Almost two years later, on August 30, 2025, the couple returned to HuntRyde Ranch with 350 guests in tow for their wedding. "The ranch means everything to Hunter; it’s home," notes the bride. "For my East Coast family, it’s the exact opposite of the city: wide open skies, animals roaming, and California countryside as far as you can see. We loved that we could make it our own."

With help from Jennifer Stone of La Grande Fête, the couple planned a "big, family-style celebration where everyone felt at home." As they started organizing the details of the big day, a "cozy-camp-meets-ranch-elegance" aesthetic naturally emerged, and guests were treated to a weekend of meals created by celebrity chefs, stunning views, and thoughtful, personal touches. "Planning a 350-person wedding while running our own businesses was no small feat," Tara explains. "We’re both super detail-oriented, so we poured a lot of energy into making sure every element reflected who we are and what our guests would love."

Guests were invited to the wedding with a multi-piece invitation suite from Minted, which featured mountain illustrations and formal, elegant typography. "We wanted our wedding to feel like one big family gathering, ranch elegance mixed with cozy camp vibes. Live animals, amazing food from chefs we love, dancing under the stars, and personal touches everywhere," Tara says of her and Hunter's vision for the weekend. "We even made our own spice blend for guest favors, designed a pickleball dance floor, and had custom boots made for our wedding party. At the heart of it, it wasn’t about 'putting on a wedding.' It was about joining two families and making everyone feel at home, while creating a day that was so us."

The weekend kicked off with a diamonds and denim-themed welcome party, when guests were encouraged to wear their favorite pair of cowboy boots or sneakers. The meal was catered by celebrity chef Lorena Garcia, and featured an array of Mexican favorites, like ceviche, fresh guacamole, and roasted street corn. Instead of a traditional guest book, they asked loved ones to sign a YETI cooler, something that the bride notes is "very us."

Choosing her wedding dress one of the easiest parts of the planning process, Tara notes. "I worked with the amazing Justin Alexander team to design a dress that felt timeless but still 'me,'" she says. "The corset, the floral details... everything about it made me feel like a princess the second I put it on." Her gown was a twist on the brand's "Laura" style, a lace ball gown with strapless scoop neckline and detachable straps, which Tara chose not to wear on the wedding day. She finished her look with a cathedral-length veil by the same designer, complete with tonal beading and a scalloped edge detail.

For her beauty look, she went with an "elevated take" on her everyday makeup and Hollywood waves with a few bohemian braids. She kept a few face-framing pieces of hair loose for a more effortless, relaxed look.

Tara carried a garden-style bouquet of seasonal blooms, with an emphasis on those available in shades of white and blue.

Hunter wore a custom beige green suit from Suit Shop, which he paired with an ivory vest and tie. Those accessories were intentionally selected to "match my beautiful wife," he notes. The groom finished his look with a pair of custom cowboy boots from Dominic Chiambrone, who is otherwise known as The Shoe SRGN.

He spent a little time with his dad, Guy Fieri, ahead of the ceremony.

The couple carefully selected looks for their bridesmaids and groomsmen—or "better men," as Hunter opted to call his attendants. Tara's cousin and best friend served as her matron and maid of honor, respectively, and donned the same blue Justin Alexander gowns as the rest of the bridesmaids. Hunter's brother, Ryder, served as his best man, and he wore the same tan suit and blue tie as the rest of the wedding party.

The bridesmaids were all gifted custom cowboy boots with their initials and a sweet note from Tara that detailed something special about their relationship.

It was important to Tara and Hunter that they had a chance to be present together on the wedding day, so they opted for a pre-ceremony first look. "It was intimate and special," the bride says. "It was like butterflies in my stomach as if we were meeting for the first time again." From a practical standpoint, Tara also notes that the first look also ensured they could finish photos on time and enjoy their cocktail hour with their guests.

For Hunter, this moment proved to be one of his favorites of the day. "Seeing her beautiful blue eyes in that gorgeous white dress was a special moment," he explains.

The ceremony was held outdoors, beneath a stunning willow tree, just after 5 PM. Susan from Poppy Stone, the couple's wedding florist, says that her team used Tara's favorite colors—soft blue, white, and green—to decorate the space. “Leading to the beautiful willow tree, the bridge was accented with a collection of potted plants at the entrance in rustic vessels and natural baskets," she explains.

Hunter's grandmother, who they affectionately call Mimi, served as the couple's flower girl, tossing petals during her walk down the aisle. "She was amazing down the aisle. She has such a beautiful smile and she looks great in anything she wears," Tara remembers. "She loves to dance and taught us a couple of moves before the wedding!"

The groom walked down the aisle with both his mom and dad. Then, Tara's dad, Joel, walked her down the aisle.

The couple exchanged vows they had written themselves with some guidance from their officiant, Shelby Joy. "We spent a special day with our officiant at the Napa Valley Reserve and did a reset day together and worked on them separately while we were there," the bride explains. "I highly suggest taking the time to do this with your officiant if you can; it will only make it feel more special for you and your partner!"

At the end of the ceremony, the couple shared an emotional first kiss. They also posed for another kiss once they crossed back over the bridge.

Tara and her new father-in-law shared a warm embrace as the ceremony wrapped, too.

Tara and Hunter's names were on full display during the rustic cocktail hour, where guests lounged on hay bales topped with blankets.

The couple served two signature sips throughout the night: Tara chose the "Honey I Dew," a mocktail inspired by the U.S. Open's Honey Deuce cocktail. Her drink contained fresh honey dew, cucumber, Once Upon a Coconut water, lemonade, and a touch of blue spirulina. Hunter's drink of choice was "The Fieri Sunrise," a mix of Santo tequila blanco, Aperol, fresh lime and lemon juices, agave, and club soda.

As a pre-wedding DIY project, the couple created their own seating chart.

"We learned firsthand that building out a venue can come with its share of surprises—time, cost, and effort!" Tara says. But all that work was well worth it when they saw their big-day vision come to life. Guests were seated at long tables set beneath glowing string lights. Petite bud vases of mismatched flowers topped each table. As a nod to Tara's job as a professional pickleball player, the couple used mini Franklin pickleball paddles as their table numbers.

The couple's chosen color palette of airy blue, tan, champagne, and sage was on full display at the reception. "We hand-assembled each place card for a thoughtful, personal touch," Tara notes.

Naturally, the wedding meal was a highlight of the day. The couple tapped celebrity chef Antonia Lofaso to create an Italian feast for their guests. An Italian chopped salad, pasta and meatballs, and homemade focaccia were all on offer. They also asked chef Aaron May to contribute by preparing the evening's meat dishes, including prime rib.

For dessert, Buddy Valastro, who is best known as The Cake Boss, created the couple's six-tiered wedding cake. "Buddy's team made it a breeze to work together," Tara remembers. "We went in a country direction, mixing mine and Hunter's passions—pickleball and food—together." The couple chose three distinct flavor combinations: black and white cake with fudge frosting, an all-chocolate cake with fudge frosting, and confetti cake with buttercream frosting. The entire cake was covered in dark fondant.

Instead of a traditional dance floor, the couple invited guests onto a pickleball court from PickleRoll for the party, which was one of Tara's favorite details of the entire day. The bride and groom shared their first dance to a song they wrote themselves. "Dancing with my wife to the song we created together was one of my favorite moments of the day," Hunter says.

After the first dance, Tara changed into a second look from Justin Alexander for the rest of the reception. A customized take on the brand's "Virgil" silhouette, the A-line gown featured floral embellishments and a high-low hemline. "It was a whimsical, flowy, country-inspired dress that was perfect for dancing in my boots," she says.

Tara and her dad shared a dance to "Ready, Set, Don't Go," by Billy Ray Cyrus and Miley Cyrus. Hunter and his mom shared a dance to "Thought You Should Know" by Morgan Wallen. After, The Aces Band, a Fieri family favorite, took the stage and got everyone on the dance floor.

DJ IRIE took over later in the evening, "sealing the night with the best remixes," Tara explains. Late-night chicken tenders and chips, Hawaiian rolls, and plenty of sauces kept the party fueled well into the night. Custom boxes of Path Water and bottles of Body Armor were available to guests, too, to ensure that everyone was staying hydrated on the dance floor.

As favors, guests took home jars of the couple's custom spice blend, which they created with the team at Sweet Betty’s Gourmet Spice Rubs.

Tara's best piece of advice for future couples? "Do it your way," she affirms. "This is your day, and it should feel like you and your partner, not tradition, trends, or what anyone else says it 'should' be. Choose the date, the place, and the details that make you happy, and skip anything that doesn’t."
