Congratulations are in order because Will Reeve, an ABC News correspondent and the son of the late Superman star Christopher Reeve, is engaged to event planner Amanda Dubin! On Sunday, November 10, 2024, the newly engaged duo announced the relationship milestone on Instagram with a joint post. “Us 🤍,” the couple wrote. According to a statement that the two shared with People, the actual proposal took place on Friday, November 8, 2024. "The proposal was the happiest night of our lives!" Amanda told Brides a few days later.

Along with their simple and sweet caption, the pair uploaded a series of photos from the proposal, all of which were captured by Allan Zepeda. The first picture in the carousel shows Will—dressed in a dark suit—propped up on one knee, holding an open engagement ring box, while Amanda—in a chic brown look—appears ecstatic. While their Instagram post doesn't include a closeup shot of the engagement ring, Amanda exclusively revealed to Brides that Will popped the question with an antique sparkler, which features an elongated cushion-cut diamond set on a thin gold band with platinum prongs.

According to the photos, the proposal space—which was Will's family's art and furniture showroom, according to Amanda—was decorated with a collection of pink orchids and calla lilies and purple hydrangeas; white votive candles and wooden accents provided ambience and texture, while a cellist set a romantic tone. Will dropped to one knee beneath a window that showcased the Empire State Building in New York City—which was a nod to the groom-to-be's late father. In October, Will attended an official lighting ceremony at the skyscraper, where it was lit up in honor of the premiere of Super/Man: The Christopher Reeve Story, Hello! reported.

According to Amanda, Will told his girlfriend that they were stopping by a charity event before traveling to the suburbs for a friend's wedding, so she didn't suspect a thing.
