An Indian Wedding at Deer Park Villa in Fairfax, California

Shraddha and Aditya got married at Deer Park Villa in Fairfax, California, in November 2024, with an Indian wedding ceremony under a mandap draped in blush and dressed with red and white flowers. Aditya arrived to a crowd of dancing guests.

Maharani Films followed the day from the first details, the bridal jewelry, the flowers and the finishing touches, through the rituals and into the reception, with as much attention on the families and guests as on the couple.

An ivory sherwani and a red bridal look

Aditya wore an ivory sherwani with a blush pink turban. Shraddha wore red, layered with gold jewelry and henna, and later a white flower garland. Red against all that green made her stand out in every frame in the garden, which is a good argument for skipping the pastel trend if your venue is mostly trees.

The mandap pulled the palette together: blush draping, red-and-gold chairs, and red and white flowers, with more white arrangements around the grounds. Surrounded by family and friends, Shraddha and Aditya moved through the ceremony’s rituals, including the exchange of flower garlands, while the photographers watched the families’ reactions as closely as the couple.

Portraits, then the party

After the ceremony the couple stepped away from the crowd for portraits, then the day shifted into the reception: laughter, long conversations and a lot of hugging. The food tables were dressed as carefully as the mandap, with copper and brass serving pieces, savory snacks and sweets on tiered stands. Maharani Films also photographed this South Asian wedding at Flowerfield on Long Island.

Get the look

Editor picks inspired by this wedding, not what the couple wore.

  • MALACASA 3 Tier Serving Trays in White Gold, 12 Inch. Check the price at Amazon. Three white porcelain trays on a collapsible gold metal rack, for setting sweets at different heights like the tiered stands on this wedding’s dessert table. The trays go in the dishwasher, which matters when it’s your family doing the cleanup.
  • Bloomingville Round Hammered Metal Bowls, Set of 2, in Copper Finish. Check the price at Amazon. A 9-inch and a 6.5-inch hammered bowl, a nod to the copper and brass serving pieces at Shraddha and Aditya’s reception. They’re rated for dry foods only, so fill them with savory snacks and keep anything saucy in its own dish.

The idea worth stealing

Treat the food table like decor. Copper and brass pieces, tiered stands and bowls at different heights turn a buffet into one more beautiful corner of the venue, and it photographs that way too.
