Audrey Hepburn, Old Hollywood glamour and a little James Bond inspiration all found their way into Grace and Joseph’s wonderful two-day wedding celebration, beginning with an intimate civil ceremony at Old Marylebone Town Hall in London on 11th July 2025, followed by a spectacular celebration aboard The Clipper Yacht on the River Seine in Paris the following day.
Paris holds a particularly special place in their story, so celebrating their marriage on the Seine, surrounded by the people they love, felt especially meaningful.
Their celebrations were captured beautifully by photographer Joan Jellett, whose work takes her across the UK and Europe. From an Audrey Hepburn-inspired ceremony reading to dancing beneath the Parisian city lights as people cheered from the bridges above, this chic and beautiful wedding is full of personality and romance.

The London Wedding
I walked down the aisle to Always Remember Us This Way from A Star Is Born.
In London both our mums did readings. My mum read a speech about love from the movie Sabrina and Joe’s mum read a famous quote from Audrey Hepburn, the I believe in pink speech.
In London we used Delsey Paris Luggage which was really beautiful and the carry case I had added that touch of 50s style glamour
For our Paris wedding, we drew inspiration from a blend of Audrey Hepburn’s timeless elegance, the glamour of old Hollywood, and a dash of James Bond intrigue. One of our favourite scenes from a Bond film features 007 flying off the Eiffel Tower onto a wedding boat on the Seine, something Joseph was, alas, disappointed to learn was not possible in real life!

The Ceremony
Our Paris wedding ceremony was aboard The Clipper Yacht with Paris Yacht Marina. As our relationship grew, we found ourselves dreaming together about places we’d love to visit, and when Paris came up, I admitted that I’d never been there, but wanted to create memories in the City of Love only with “the one.”

A few months later, Joseph surprised me with an exciting trip to a European city. Brimming with excitement, I asked if it was Paris. Joseph’s response? “Nope. It’s your job to decide when or if you want to go there with me.” That respect was one of the many reasons I knew that Joseph was someone truly special, a man I knew I could marry one day.
By the time I turned 27, I knew it was time to make Paris a reality. I wanted to wake up in the city on my birthday, with Joseph by my side. It was during that trip, surrounded by the beauty of the Eiffel Tower and indulging in every pastry Paris had to offer, that Joseph realised he was ready to take the next step and then started planning the ultimate engagement.

My dad walked me down the aisle to Moon River. We were married by our family Catholic priest, Father Tony
We wrote our own vows, I talked about how if we only live to be 100, how will I fit all my love for you into just 60 years and that I promise to take care of not only his heart but also the heart of his son James who I will love as my own family.
Joseph talked about how he will always love me and looked at our own parents’ marriage as to how our marriage will be, super strong and full of love.

How They Met
Our story is one that proves that sometimes, true love isn’t found when you expect it, and sometimes has been there the entire time. Though we had known each other for years, our paths never truly crossed until 2019, when fate finally brought us together in the same place through mutual friends.
Our first date was nothing short of magical: an instant connection that lasted for hours, spanning across a late-night conversation in a restaurant that only ended when the staff announced they were closing. But the night didn’t stop there. We continued talking at a casino, staying out until 3 a.m. It was, as we recall, the first time we had ever experienced the feeling of not wanting to go home.
After being together for 4 years, the secret planning began for the ring…Joseph poured his heart into designing the perfect ring, a yellow canary diamond with two smaller diamonds on either side, inspired by my favourite film, Breakfast at Tiffany’s. After seeking the blessing of my dad, Joseph began planning the perfect proposal. When my new job required international travel to Las Vegas, Joseph seized the opportunity to surprise me.
He flew to meet me there and whisked me away to an unforgettable evening at the Paris Hotel. A private elevator ride led us to the Eiffel Tower restaurant, where we dined with views of the Bellagio fountains. After an intimate meal, Joseph asked me for a photograph. As I turned to smile for the camera, he got down on one knee and presented me with the stunning ring. I of course, said yes! A million times yes! The celebration continued with a four-day trip to Los Angeles, where we explored and fell in love with the city we both dreamed of living in someday.
We got married eighteen months later!

The Reception
Our catering was by Paris Yacht Marina and our wedding cake came from Odette Bakery, a famous bakery in Paris. We opted for a traditional French choux pastry tower with an assortment of 4 fillings of lemon, vanilla, chocolate and praline.
We had a selection of photos showing our parents and grandparents weddings which got a lot of people emotional and nostalgic. We thought this was a really nice touch.

Our guest gifts were Ladurée chocolate boxes on top of individual embroidered napkins with each guest’s name on it and a gold pin that said ‘together in Paris’ which was the theme of our wedding.
If you know the movie Anastasia then you’ll know the reference! I had all these made from Etsy

We brought our own DJ from the UK and his name is Chris Green. We also had a live crepe station where guests could choose their own toppings.
We danced to My Eyes Adored You by Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons for our first dance.
Our favourite moment was dancing the night away under the Parisian city lights. Everyone sailed past us cheering and even people who were on the bridges cheered for us too. We felt like the whole city was watching us
Looking back I wish that we had maybe had a day between our two ceremonies and was able to have more of a relax between.

Words of Wedded Wisdom
Make it personal. Don’t do a cookie cutter wedding like everyone else…make it something different that reflects your personalities and be very selective on your guest list.
Don’t spend all day talking to people you haven’t seen in years! Dance the night away and take lots of cake back with you to eat in the room and reminisce before you fall asleep!
