We recently brought you a list of our favourite small wedding venues, but here, we're turning our focus to private dining restaurants in Dublin. Although not all strictly wedding venues, each of these restaurants or venues have discreet and stylish spaces that would make a great choice for a small wedding reception, post-registry meal, pre-wedding celebration or engagement party dinner for a group of up to approximately 30 guests. Whether you're planning a two-part wedding, a sophisticated hen 'do, or a luxe rehearsal dinner, there should be a restaurant on this page to suit you. Without further ado, let's show you around our favourite private dining restaurants in Dublin! When it comes to luxury, few places can rival the iconic Shelbourne Hotel and its stunningly gorgeous private dining suites, The Constitution Suite is the perfect spot in which to share a bespoke dinner with your nearest and dearest. Location: St. Stephen's Green, Dublin 2 | Capacity: 20 | Website: theshelbournedining.com Experience Hawksmoor Dublin's private dining in one of their beautiful dining rooms None the Wiser and Croom-A-Boo. Both named after prize winning cattle, the walls are adorned with images from over the years of Dexter and Kerry cows, heifers, bulls and steers. Hawksmoor Dublin's private dining includes special sharing menus which offer a range of classic Hawksmoor dishes and their dictionary thick steaks. All are served family-style - with the steaks cooked to order, sliced and served in cast-iron skillets with their legendary sides and sauces. Large sharing puddings complete the feast. The experienced food team at Stephen's Green Club is second to none, and they have been delighted palettes at this beautiful property for years. The ethos is simple: use locally-sourced Irish produce to create dishes that are traditional in flavour, yet contemporary in design. Highlights include Venison Wellington and Baked Fillet of Atlantic Cod. Stephen's Green Club also boasts a carefully-curated wine list for couples to choose from. A private, gastronomic mecca, the team does five-star service without the stuffiness like nobody else. From the moment guests arrive through the private entrance, they are transported into a world of classic elegance. The powder blue walls of the first-floor Wellington Room at make for an elegant and romantic ceremony setting. It's become a popular spot for Dublin couples looking for something a little bit different, and it can cater for larger numbers. Location: Fleet Street East, Dublin 2 | Capacity: up to 250 | Website: medley.ie Country house elegance meets farmyard chic at Airfield Estate, a hopelessly pretty, sprawling sanctuary. There are lots of lovely small wedding dining options, including the Library Room in Airfield House, which can be used for private dining up to 52 guests, and a chic restaurant, the airy Overends Kitchen for up to 110 guests. Renowned for its farm-to-fork cuisine, it's a food lover's dream, as much of the food served is grown and produced on the estate, meaning that the menus are sustainable, seasonal, and local. Location: Dundrum, Dublin 14 | Capacity: 52-110 | Website: airfield.ie A two-star Michelin restaurant that specialises in French-style cuisine using top-quality Irish ingredients - at Patrick Guilbaud you'll find dishes like Wicklow Hills Lamb and Annagassan Blue Lobster on the menu. The private dining room makes the most of the restaurant's Georgian surroundings nestled in the Merrion Hotel, boasting sash windows and a period fireplace. Urban Brewing is a truly unique Dublin wedding dining space, located in the CHQ building at the IFSC. Blending a historic location with contemporary hospitality and great food, for a small wedding celebration you can choose from the open-plan vaulted basement bar. Offering fresh and inventive twist to traditional Irish fare, the talented Urban Brewing chefs along with the in-house Sommelier bring together flavours from their travels around the world and local seasonal ingredients to create food you’ll fall in love with. The food at is stylish and comforting, and uses only the best Irish produce. The menu here celebrates 100% homemade Italian dishes made with exceptional ingredients sourced from over 170 Italian artisans, including creamy Puglian burrata from Salvatore Montrone and 22-month aged Parmigiano Reggiano DOP from Paolo Gennari. The Polo Room is a beautiful private dining room with a bar located on the first floor of the restaurant with separate private entrance. Location: Molesworth Place, Dublin 2 | Capacity: 15 minimum | Website: onepico.com Floritz, the dazzling restaurant at 22 St. Stephen’s Green, brings a chic, Asian-inspired twist to the heart of Dublin. The extensive wine and cocktail lists are the cherry on top, as is the slick service. The private dining room upstairs is imbued with a refined yet cosy ambience thanks to then dark wood, low lighting and candlelight, and boasts its own stylish bar. Location: Monkstown, Co Dublin | Capacity: 35 (approx.) | Website: bresson.ie Just off St Stephen’s Green, Ely Wine Bar is a chic, intimate spot perfect for couples seeking a cosy and stylish setting. Spread over two floors, the venue offers private and semi-private dining options, ideal for smaller groups who want a more personal experience. With its unique art pieces and standout Birdman sculpture, it’s far from your typical function room. Perfect for intimate celebrations, Halo can host up to 50 guests for a seated wedding meal or 70 for a cocktail-style reception, making it ideal for couples looking for something modern, memorable and a little bit different. Housed in a historic Victorian restaurant, the homey eaterie specialises in stylish, comtemporary interpretations of classic Irish fare. The private dining snug seats parties of 6 to 9 while the new internal courtyard seats groups of up to 12 guests and its fully enclosed and heated. Multi-Michelin starred chef Andy McFadden offers a modern French-inspired menu using predominantly locally-sourced ingredients. The team at Glovers Alley can create bespoke cocktails for your wedding and there is also a dedicated sommelier on site. With numerous private spaces available for all manner of celebrations, both grand affairs and intimate gatherings, The Grayson is a truly chic spot for a wedding celebration in Dublin. Spread across four floors each with their own unique character, The Grayson can be tailored to match your vision and accommodate an array of event layouts. Head upstairs to the exclusive dining space, complete with its own bar and bartender, outdoor terrace and plug-in music system. It’s perfectly set up for couples who want a celebration that feels fun, personal and effortlessly stylish. With wines, signature spritzes and premium cocktails on hand, it’s a chic spot for toasting your nuptials in style before carrying on the celebrations in the lively bar downstairs. Loctation: Rathmines, Dublin 6 | Capacity: 28 | Website: lotties.ie Floating above Dublin, DÍON is the city’s newest rooftop dining experience, located in the iconic One Central Plaza, the former Central Bank of Ireland. Steeped in history, the building’s bold 1970s lines and striking form inspired DÍON’s jazzy, contemporary interiors. The restaurant has reimagined private dining with two semi-private rooms, each seating up to 24 guests. These spaces offer the perfect balance of intimacy and atmosphere—close enough to feel the energy of the main restaurant, yet private enough for hosting special gatherings with your closest people. Location: Dame St, Temple Bar, Dublin 2 | Capacity: 24 Website: diondublin.ie/private-dining This chic and laid-back restaurant appeared on our list of the best restaurant wedding venues in Dublin, but it caters for smaller parties too. The beautiful Drawing Room, located on the 2nd floor, offers the perfect space to wine and dine your loved ones. The stunning red-bricked walls and large sash windows overlooking Drury Street are sure to wow your guests. With a capacity of up to 45 guests, the space at Fade St. Social space is perfect for a cozy and intimate wedding. Location: 6 Fade Street, Dublin 2 | Capacity: 45 | Website: www.fadestreetsocial.com Greg and Rosie, co-founders of Hen's Teeth, know a lot about throwing weddings in their 2,500 sq ft gallery, café and event space as they had their own wedding there in 2019. They have hosted many weddings for couples looking for flexibility when it comes to food, drinks, entertainment in a convenient Dublin location. Hen’s Teeth can host up to 75 for a sit-down dinner. With a pared-back, industrial feel, this spacious, open-plan venue is ideal for couples who want to curate a fun celebration that's anything but run of the mill. Location: Blackpitts, Dublin 8 | Capacity: 75 | Website: hensteethstore.com As one of the go-to spots for a fine-dining meal in Dublin, two Michelin-starred Chapter One is ideal for when you really want to treat your guests. The menu is creative and stylish, with lots of vegetarian dishes, and there are three options for a private party: two semi-private dining spaces in the cellar (the Demi-Salle, which seats 6, and the Vault Room, which seats 16), as well as the newly-refurbished fully private dining room which has its own bar and cloakroom, and is bedecked in Italian marble, brass accents and antique mirrors. The Riverrun room seats 28 and overlooks the Ha'penny bridge and The Joyce room seats 20 and boasts elegant Georgian features, while the Yarn pizza restaurant and cocktail bar on the second floor is ideal for casual parties of up to 30 people. The menu is eclectic, including everything from American-style diner fare to sophisticated seafood and retro favourites. Location: Ormond Quay Lower, Dublin 1 | Capacity: Up to 30 guests | Website: thewoollenmills.com Some of the best French food in Ireland is found at this charming bistro in the heart of the buzzing South William St. area, which is conveniently located next door to legendary Dublin pub, Grogan's. The côte de boeuf is so good we've heard many stories of patrons ordering it all to themselves (it serves 2!), but there are solid veggie options too. The upstairs space is perfect for private dining. Location: Castle Market, Dublin 2 | Capacity: 25 (approx.) | Website: lamaisondublin.com An almighty chandelier and a period fireplace graces the private dining room at Brookwood, known as The Club Room. A classic steakhouse with a few tantalising fish options gracing the menu in for good measure, it's a lovely spot for a special meal. Location: Baggot St. Lower, Dublin 2 | Capacity: 14 | Website: brookwooddublin.com A glasshouse restaurant and industrial chic bar in the heart of Temple Bar, there are two semi-private dining areas with great views over the River Liffey at Roberta's. The Long Room features a lengthy marble table with electric pink seating and seats up to 14, while the Gratton Room takes up to 30. Location: Temple Bar, Dublin 2 | Capacity: up to 14 or 30 | Website: robertas.ie If you're having a Dublin wedding but want to get out of the city centre, The Library at Marco Pierre's Donnybrook restaurant is a gem. Overlooking the lush courtyard, the décor is luxurious and oozing with old school glamour, with tailored, bespoke menus to match the comfort and style. Steak and fish are the specialities here and although it's more dark and cosy indoors, if the weather's nice you can extend the party out onto the heated courtyard. Location: Donnybrook, Dublin 4 | Capacity: 10 to 20 | Website: marcopierrewhite.ie A secluded spot overlooking the canal, your “neighbourhood Italian restaurant” Lena now lives at the home of the previous Locks restaurant. With a menu designed by powerhouse team Simon Barrett and Liz Matthews (Uno Mas and Etto) alongside Locks’ Chef and co-owner Paul McNamara, it's fast becoming a firm favourite among Dublin foodies, thanks to its aesthetically-pleasing and hearty take on contemporary cuisine, and its cosy, welcoming atmosphere. There are two private dining rooms located on the first floor of the restaurant, overlooking the canal - The Locks Room which seats 20 to 24 people and the Gold Room seats 8 to 12 people. These rooms can be interlinked to accommodate groups of up to 36 people. Guests are treated to a carefully curated four-course set menu, with standout dishes such as mushroom dumplings with aged soya and wild halibut. It’s an elegant, sociable setting for an intimate wedding celebration where exceptional food is guaranteed. Location: Blackrock, Co. Dublin | Capacity: 22 | Website: volpenera.ie SOLE Seafood & Grill, one of Dublin’s most acclaimed dining destinations, has unveiled its newest and most luxurious Private Dining Suite as part of a stunning reimagining and expansion of its space. Recently transformed by renowned interior designer Graham Barrow, the restaurant now spans an impressive 11,000 sq. ft., doubling in size and offering an elevated experience for diners and private events alike. Highlights include a larger main dining room seating up to 150 guests, two exceptional private suites—the intimate Cove for 14 and the Vault for 40, perfect for celebrations—and a dedicated Private Dining Room entrance at 47 Drury Street for exclusivity and discretion.
