There’s no denying that floral arrangements are a mainstay in wedding design. From bouquets of peonies to centerpieces full of hydrangeas and roses, flowers lend color and texture to your big day. However, if you’re searching for ways to bring a touch of nature to your celebration, consider a greenery installation full of wrapped vines or cascading canopies. While you may assume that such a display only works with for an outdoor affair, such decorative plants bring liveliness and romance to any venue. Karina Lopez Rogers, a wedding planner and founder of KC You There, says greenery can often soften the “harsh edges” of some indoor spaces, such as a formal ballroom or a rustic barn. “It’s the perfect choice for couples who want a more natural, understated aesthetic,” she says. “Greenery installations add texture, depth, and feel warm and inviting, without the formality of a lot of florals.”

Greenery installations are often tailored to the architecture of your venue—and can emphasize the signature features of the space. Think: winding vines on a spiral staircase or layers of foliage in front of the band’s stage. Ultimately, how you choose to integrate such vegetation into your décor will depend on your personal style and the vision for your celebration. Lopez Rogers adds that a greenery installation can be incredibly versatile, complementing both “large scale designs” and “a minimalist aesthetic.”

Searching for inspiration for your own nuptials? Below, we’ve compiled 13 of our favorite greenery installations from real weddings. Read on for more.
